This Country Cottage is situated in a quiet and beautiful wooded area southeast of downtown Kansas City. It is on one level, has key-less access and private parking. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa sleeper in the living area to comfortably sleep 6. Guests will enjoy a full, well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, and outdoor living space. With an open layout it has a spacious and welcoming feel. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed, 2 closets, and master bath with a shower and jetted tub, as well as 2 sinks. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a desk and closet, and access to the second bathroom, which has a shower. There is also access to the second bathroom from the hall. Both bathrooms are large and have large counters and mirrors and lots of storage.

The Cottage is separated from the residence of the owners by a 3-car garage. There are no additional homes on the property.

Loved this property and the hosts were awesome! Just the right amount of communication! One thing we noticed is that the yard light shines directly into the living room, so the person on the pullout couch had to cover the window as best she could with a blanket. Maybe add some blinds or a raise-able curtain there?Also, the listing said the pull out couch was a full and the bedrooms were a king and a queen sized bed. I'm pretty sure the bedroom was a full and the pullout was a queen! We made it work, but it was a funny discovery for the girls sharing the bed!All in all, I would definitely rent this place again if the chance came up!Thank you!

What a delightful space! My husband and I stayed here while visiting family in the area. Close to everything we wanted to do and perfect for having the grands over to spend the night. Can't wait to stay again!

Kc trip

This is by far the best booking I have ever made. We have never rented accommodations that were so fully equipped or added personal touches . On arrival we were greeted with a sign that welcomed us to their home and chocolate chip cookies. They supplied more than enough towels and wash cloths. I have always had to do laundry to have enough, but not here . They supplied coffee, all the cleaning products, good toilet paper etc. I could go in and on and never do it justice. If we ever go to the area again this is the place I want to stay.

We were here for the Sweet Adeline International convention in Kansas City; this house was about 30 minutes away, which we knew beforehand. Very quiet and hosts most pleasant and accommodating. We would stay again of ever in the area.

Clean, Spacious Country Cottage

What a great vacation rental! Very peaceful and so much room. The rental was immaculate and the decor was inviting. I was able to drive up the rock driveway with no problems. It was a pleasure chatting with the owner! This will be our "go-to" rental when we are in the area.

Beautiful Cottage

The cottage was exactly as described. It was super clean and comfortable. We had more than enough room for 2 moms and 2 daughters in the area for state softball championships. It is located off the beaten path nestled in the country. Even saw a mama deer and her baby in the driveway one night. Excellent listing!

This is a lovely cottage and Lesli and Gordon were Super Host. My friend and I had a wonderful time and had family come for meals. I highly recommend that if you need a VRBO you choose this one. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to Lesli and Gordon for a wonderful stay. 😊

2nd visit here even better than 1st

We love the Property. Perfect for small family gatherings like our Thanksgiving Dinner with the kids. The house always feels like home when we walk in the door. The hosts are lovely and will go above and beyond to make the stay perfect. This year, on the day of our departure, we had a couple of inches of snow on the ground, and I found the host had scrapped the gravel road on the hillside by hand to make it safer, as well as the front stoop then continued to brush our vehicle off from the snow on the windows.

Quiet Country Cottage

This property was delightful! We were 2 adult couples staying for 3 nights in this 2 bedroom/2 bathroom place. We came to Kansas City to see a couple of baseball games. This little hideaway in the country was fully equipped for our needs. Although the weather was hot/humid, we were cool and comfortable. The wrap around porch was nice for coffee in the morning. A bit off the beaten path but that's what we liked about it. Stores were within a 15 minute drive so we got what we needed easily. The hosts were readily available for restaurant suggestions and other questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice house in a beautiful, peaceful area. Everything was as described and extremely clean. There was no shampoo or conditioner, but it's not listed in the items provided, so that was my fault (just be aware and bring your own). Plenty of towels, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. We cooked a few meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had to adjust our plans because my husband broke his arm (not at the house) and had to have emergency surgery. But, on the bright side, we canceled our downtown plans and spent more time enjoying the house and the outdoors. We saw a groundhog (new to us!), a coyote, turkeys, deer, and lots of birds. We even heard a pileated woodpecker several times, but couldn't find it! Thanks for a great stay!

We loved everything about our stay! The location is off the beaten path but eating & shopping are very nearby. We enjoyed both the Canoe Club restaurant and ordered pizza from Station 7. Top notch on both accounts. It truly feels like a home away from home. The owners are extremely thoughtful and accommodating. During our weekend stay, our children enjoyed many walks down the path to visit their horse, Milo, for pets and feeding him sweet potato and apple slices. It was hands down their highlight of our stay. We used the patio in the mornings for coffee and playing games in the afternoon and evening as a family. I’ve already rebooked with them for our next trip to KC!

Check-in was easy peasy. This home is more than a cottage. The place is larger thanour own home! Beautifully furnished. Thick fluffy towels in the bathrooms. Everything you would need to cook a meal if you didn't want to eat out. Its very scenic, quiet, and relaxing. Loved our stay.

Beautiful country sanctuary

The “cottage” is a lovely home on a hill that is private from the owners house on a large acreage that includes a horse paddock. The home was well stocked with everything required, spotless, and tasteful. A wrap around covered deck was relaxing in the evening and perfect for morning breakfast. The highlight was a visit by our son’s family and most memorable our young grandkids feeding apples to the very friendly horse on the property. We would definitely want to stay there again.

Group of friends that were down in the KC area for the weekend. The place was easy to get to following the GPS direction. Only tricky part was the last bit of driveway before the house, kind of a tight switch back on gravel that had a manual transmission car struggling.The house was great because it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry that we were able to use. This allowed everyone enough space to spread out and relax. The kitchen was nice, but we didn't use it. Check out was easy. Would book again.

We have lived on this property (50 acres) since 1983. There are two homes here, connected by a 3-car garage. We raised 5 children here and still love living in the country even though we have been empty-nesters for several years. The Cottage portion was home for Gordon's parents for many years. We decided it would make a perfect vacation rental because of the privacy and beauty of the home and property. We did a lot of updating before opening up for guests and have continued to replace and refresh along the way.

Why they chose this property

This Country Cottage is a lovely and comfortable home with all the comforts you may want as you relax and unwind. The setting is beautiful and very private. We are out in the country, but not too far out! Grocery stores, shopping, movie theaters, and restaurants are within a short drive.

Please note that we have a strict no smoking policy, inside and out. Thank you!

We recognize that some guests travel with a service animal. We do the cleaning and upkeep between guests and, unfortunately, I am allergic to cats and to dogs that are not hypoallergenic. Please keep this in mind as you decide where to book. Again, thank you!

What makes this property unique

Here you will find a beautiful setting and view. You are very likely to see wildlife and will be surrounded by nature. The home is comfortable, inviting and very livable. It is furnished in eclectic farmhouse style. Some things are new, new-to-us, old and very old. It all comes together in a wonderfully cozy way. The wrap-around porch offers peaceful outdoor space. It features a porch swing, sitting area with wicker furniture and an area off the kitchen/dining area for outdoor dining or playing games.

The home cannot be seen from the road and has a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. Part of the driveway is a hill which may seem a little intimidating the first time. Just get some momentum and keep coming! Stay to the left as the drive curves to the right at the top of the hill. You will then see This Country Cottage! For easy access, the keypad will be programmed with the last four digits of the telephone number you provided when booking.

Please let us know if you will be arriving after dark and we will leave the porch lights on.
