The Gem of Rockhall. We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay. Saw Eagles, Osprey, purple martins. Got to enjoy the boat as well. This was very comfortable and felt like home

Hope you all had a great time; I went out wed. night and caught a mess of white perch; delicious; Next time you guys can use the motor and I never charge for it when I find guests I can trust with the motor. Thanks
We’ve stayed in several vacation properties over the years and Overton Cottage is definitely tops. The house was spotless, comfortable and its central air conditioning was very appreciated. Robert was friendly and helpful but in no way intrusive. You really can’t beat the views and privacy. This property is a winner.
Robert is a wonderful host ! He was very helpful with suggestions in the area and the home was impeccable. the home is just as described and we enjoyed some early evening fishing in the boat he has available. We will definitely stay again when we visit this area of the Chesapeake.
Our hosts were wonderful. They had lots of supplies and entire cottage was very clean. Checked in on us to make sure we had all we needed and mitigated whatever was an issue. Beautiful peaceful setting.
Overton Cottage is one of the most delightful, peaceful places we have stayed. The setting is beautiful - just up the road from a wildlife refuge. The owners are very kind, welcoming and responsive. The house is generously and thoughtfully furnished with every need in mind. This is the second time we have stayed there and we will be back.

The cleaners had absolutely no reason to even enter the property; Under different circumstances I would refuse to pay them, But they are all family and I may pay dearly if I refuse;
Kidding aside, Donna said it was the cleanest anyone ever left the place. and that is over a three year period. You are both now superguests. Thanks so much. Robert
Robert was a great host. He stopped in to make sure we had everything we needed and to show me where to drop my boat in. The house was immaculate and the view was spectacular. We will be visiting again

It was great meeting all you guys and you all seemed to be having a great time; Duke was ready to pack and leave for New Jersey with you; So please come back soon just for his sake; Also it was abundantly clear that you all made a major effort to leave the place very clean; Thanks and much appreciated . Robert
Our long weekend was exactly what we expected. The property was private, serene, and extremely relaxing. We took advantage of the restaurants and ice cream shops. We tried some fishing and crabbing but mostly just relaxed as a family.

It was a pleasure hosting your party and we will look forward to seeing you again some time. You left the place very neat and tidy and that was also appreciated. Robert
What an amazing place. Wildlife everyday, along with sunrise views. Which was great for my mom who barely moved from the sun room. Was the cleanest place by far, and fully stocked. Owners are very personable and accommodating. Truly concerned about their guests having the best experience possible. We will definitely return.
The owner was very nice and accommodating and the cottage was very clean.
A couple of suggestions for guests:
Be sure to bring soap for the shower, a night light, and a hair dryer. Hand soap, dish soap, and washing machine detergent are all provided.
Very peaceful and relaxing there.

thank you for your kind comments and we hope to see you all again soon. I regretted that we had some weather that prevented me from showing you the great fishing spots.
PS the hair dryer is in the small bathroom first drawer on the right side of the vanity unless someone took it.
Vacation for relaxing and enjoying beautiful surroundings.
The cottage was very clean and was equipped with everything you needed for cooking, entertaining, enjoying the beautiful nature surroundings, etc. There is a screened in porch to enjoy meals or just relax outdoors and view the beautiful scenery around the cottage. It was a pleasure to meet the owner, Robert when we arrived at the cottage to show us around. Robert also invited us on a boat ride which was very thoughtful. We had a great time here and looking forward to visiting again.,
Overton Cottage was the perfect accommodation for a weekend wedding we attended in Rock Hall. The cottage was meticulously clean. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The view of the water and the wetlands was picturesque. Robert was an outstanding host. We will definitely be returning!

Thanks so much for your great review; You were truly accommodating and fine people to have as our guest. You left the place in perfect order. Robert
My husband, two teenage children, and I recently spent a week at Overton Cottage and it was wonderful. We could tell that Robert and Donna love their property and take great pride in it. It is beautifully maintained and decorated, and feels like home away from home! Robert and Donna are lovely people and are very knowledgeable about the area. If you love to fish, observe wildlife, and enjoy quiet relaxation you must visit Overton Cottage. We look forward to another stay. Thank you Robert and Donna!

You left the cottage in excellent condition; My wife and I really appreciate a family of 4 who makes the extra effort to leave the place in great condition. Makes it so much easier for my wife.
Also would like to recall how patient you all were when we were installing the new tv at the same time I was suppose to be explaining the cottage as it was your first visit. All seemed to have a great time and we hope to see you again soon. Robert Also thank your son for his electronic skills at installing the new Samsung TV
My husband and I had such a relaxing time staying at this house. It was clean and spacious, and the decor was fun. We were able to put our kayaks in from the dock in the back yard and go up the Chester River, to the nature preserve at Eastern Neck, and into the Chesapeake itself. The wildlife was stunning, and we enjoyed bird watching and relaxing on the screened in porch, even on chilly mornings. We also drove into the nature preserve a few times (it's just a couple minutes from the house) and ate lunch and dinner several times in Rock Hall. We were surprised at the number of good restaurants there. The owner was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. We definitely want to return for another visit, perhaps with our adult sons since there is plenty of room for four in the house.

Absolutely perfect guests. Left the cottage immaculate. Loved wildlife and the water. Just the type of guests we had in mind when we refurbished this property
Gorgeous property right on the water, the screened in porch has a beautiful 180 degree view of the water. From the bedroom window we could see the moon reflecing in the water. Lots of wildlife: osprey, bald eagles, turtles, rabbits, muskrat, deer and a friendly labrador retriever named Duke. The house is charmingly decorated, thoughtfully designed and well stocked with kitchen supplies and plush towels. It comes with a rowboat! It is 1/4 mile from the entrance to the Eastern neck wildlife reserve. The owner was very kind and gracious. If you are looking for a peaceful, picturesque getaway from the city - look no further.
Overton Cottage is a wonderful property on the water with a comfy screened in porch. The whole cottage is decorated in a sophisticated casual style. Every aspect of this trip was beyond expectations.
The location is powerfully beautiful, and yet serene and peaceful. The property is generously organized and delightfully furnished. The owners are deeply kind and thoughtful. The house is simple, easy, comfortable to be in - exactly right for the setting. There is a wildlife preserve a short distance down the road and the whole area is abundant with life. We had a wonderful time and will go back.
We spent a weekend at Overton Cottage as a short retreat from our busy and stressful work schedules. The photos do not do this peaceful and beautiful home or view justice. The cottage is warm and inviting and the view is absolutely amazing. You really feel like you are staying in a friend's home. Mr. Strong was so helpful and accommodating. We were late checking in and could not find the exact entrance to the property. He came to our rescue in about 5 minutes. I can't wait to bring my friends to this lovely and tranquil place to recharge in the future. Hope to return for another stay very soon.
Outstanding getaway for a few days or much longer, of at least a week would be ideal.
The sunrise from this cottage coming up over the water is spectacular and does not disappoint as the wildlife and water fowl begin the day on these shores. The Cottage has been totally rehabbed down to the studs. Thoughtfully added on to, with everything brand new and kept spotlessly clean, while retaining a waterside cottage charm. It is filled with light and views of the waterway steps from the screened in back porch. Either relaxing on the back porch or on the floating dock the waterfowl abound and delight as they glide or skim the water's surface. A short bike ride, walk or car ride takes you to the National Wildlife Refuge that opens to the upper Chesapeake Bay on the western shores of this peninsula; there are plenty of walking paths, deer, turkey, and a variety of fowl. Sunset is not to be missed from this near western shoreline. Of course, there are plenty of places to dine outside, even dockside in Rock Hall. But, with the well equipped kitchen at The Cottage and a few good suggestions in the Guest Manuel I do recommend picking up an order of prepared steamed Maryland Crab, Crab Cakes, and / or Rock Fish to bring back to the Cottage as dinner. Wonderful food only made better when served by candle light on the back porch as the plenitude of stars appear over the waterway.
Not enough can be said for the prompt and kind response as needed from Robert or Donna Strong. Robert was immediately at hand to welcome and show me around as well as for a call concerning the Wi-Fi, which he promptly fixed. And "Duke" his trusty black lab was a delightful greeting companion. Even after leaving I found that I had misplaced a personal object left near the boat launch at the Refuge. Robert immediately got a wildlife personnel to go out in search of this small object.
The Strong's along with family members have been marvelous stewards to this beautiful track of land that is now being converted to Organic for future generations of farming.
The Cottage at Overton Farms receives my highest recommendation for natural beauty, cleanliness, comfort, service and relaxation.
Robert did every thing in his power to make our week stay A+++.Beautiful view, Beds as good as home, stocked fully, Robert knows how to get you back again. 0 complaints.
