About this property
Cozy, Clean & Quiet. Home in the Hills. Close to DT Omaha; Market; Zoo; Gardens
Best kept secret! Comfortable home in a safe and quiet neighborhood in the hills. Perfectly located for quick and easy drive to downtown Council Bluffs, bustling activity in downtown Omaha, CHI Center, Luminarium, Zoo, Lauritzen Gardens, Softball Fields, etc.
Return from a busy day of activities to a peaceful oasis. Relax on the patio, grill out and simply enjoy the peace and quiet that surrounds you. Watch sunsets/sunrises on the horizon. Enjoy relaxing. Deer may wander through the yard - but they're quiet when they do. This is best of both worlds - being on vacation with the comforts of home. You can sleep comfortably so you're ready to do it all over again the next day!
Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking items, dishes, utensils, smoothie blender, waffle maker, etc. Icemaker in frig. Fully stocked coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar. Keurig, Bialetti espresso maker, regular coffeemaker- etc.
Laundry room - washer, dryer, soap/softener, iron and clothes folding table at the bottom of the stairs for guest usage.
Grocery store 3 minutes away - down the hill and around the corner for fresh perishables and big ticket items. (See Guide Book for details)
Parking in private driveway.
If you are flying in - Short drive or Uber/Lyft to downtown Omaha, Old Market, Airport, College World Series, CHI Center, Casinos, Henry Doorly Zoo, Joslyn Art Museum or Lauritzen Garden. - Best of all worlds.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This home is not recommended for toddlers or wildly adventurous youth. Inside: Home is not baby/toddler proofed. Stairs inside entryway lead down to laundry area and are not gated. Back patio area is edged, but not fenced. Intense hill/slope past edging. Great to watch the wildlife venture through, but extremely dangerous for wayward little feet. It is steep to the point of impassibility. Children have stayed at the house and love watching the animals with no problems, but there are some for whom this would not be a good combo. Contact host if you have questions.

Super clean and quiet cottage. Comfortable beds with soft sheets, nice pillows & plenty of absorbant towels. The host, Sharon, communicates quickley and thoroughly. The house is stocked with everything you need for a pleasant stay.
We truly enjoyed our stay! The home was very clean, quiet, and had everything we needed for a comfortable, home-like experience. The serene patio was a perfect spot to relax and unwind—it added such a peaceful touch to our visit. The location made it easy and convenient to spend time with family in the area, and having such a cozy place to come back to each day made the whole trip even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this rental and would definitely stay again!

It was a great pleasure visiting with you both. I enjoyed having you and am very much looking forward to your next visit!
This house feels like home the minute yo walk in the door. We esoecially enjoyed the patio, the flowers and birds. Sharon was so gracious and she really made our stay special. Highly recommend this rental!!
Great spot to stay while my son participated in the Pathway Omaha tournament at the nearby community college. He stayed in the dorms with the team most of our time, so I had the place to myself and it was quite easy to make myself at home. Sharon was so helpful throughout the process - contacting me as soon as I made the reservation and providing relevant updates up to my arrival. She was also so flexible with my arrival as I was a bit uncertain how all the timing would work out. Very enjoyable stay overall!
This was a fantastic place to stay! It was clean, a great location for us and Sharon went above and beyond for us during our time there. It was the best stay at a vrbo we have ever had they dont really compare 😄 Will definitely be staying here again when we come this way!
Small, but quaint accommodations with all necessities and more.
Super host committed to making your stay the best in can be- very communicative and accommodating! Excellent location!

Close to the big city and tucked away. This was a great place to stay with family where you can go out out on the town and come back to Netflix and chill.
It was a pleasure meeting both of you. You left the house spotless. If you ever wish to return to the area I would love to be able to host you again. Many blessings!
It was overall a great experience staying for the weekend. The manager made sure we knew all the quirks about the property. We would highly recommend this property to stay at.

Quiet place to stay while visiting the Omaha area. Close to the zoo and other attractions, but secluded enough for a quiet stay. Very clean. We all loved it. Hosts were great with communication and care, thank you!

It was a pleasure having you and your lovely family at the treehouse. You were tremendous guests. Of note on the stars - I submitted 5 stars in all areas. VRBO system glitched it and they say they cannot fix it. Grrrr!!. You guys were great - would love to have you back anytime - and hosts in other areas should be very happy to have you wherever your next adventure takes you.
My friend and I stayed at this vrbo for a concert and a weekend get away. We had a great time in Omaha and it was so nice coming back to a place that was cozy and felt like home! We already decided we will be staying here when we can meet up again!

It was a pleasure hosting you and appreciate getting to share in the joy in your lives! Thank you for leaving the house clean and spotless. You are most welcome back anytime - there's still a lot of fun things to do and wonderful places to eat!!
We had a great time at the Treehouse! Very comfortable and cozy. Sharon was very kind and helpful. Great location that is close to all the attractions we went to, including the Omaha zoo, the garden,“Bob” the bridge, metro shopping mall, and the AMC movie theater. We will visit again!
From the start Sharon was very responsive and the communication was great. She gave us great recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the area. She knew it was my husbands birthday and she baked him a cake and cupcakes and even decorated for him. It was such a wonderful surprise for him and the cake was delicious! The house itself was so cozy, clean, and smelled wonderful. Everything was updated and decorated with great detail. The whole family really enjoyed our stay and I really appreciated our host. Thanks Sharon for sharing your home!
This was the best Vrbo we've ever stayed at! I would give it 6 or 7 stars if I could. The house was immaculate, the owner was great at communicating, provided info on the area and we all had a wonderful time. Beautiful house. Super clean. Quiet and safe neighborhood. I would go back to Council Bluffs if for no other reason to stay here :)

Also thank you for moving my little plant out of the bad weather!! Anytime you all decide to travel cross country again, let me know, you are very welcome and I would look forward to the opportunity of having you. :)
We took a short weekend getaway for our anniversary. This was just the right spot. Relaxing, comfortable, quiet. House has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Property owner was extremely helpful as we researched a few small activities like figuring out logistics of visiting a local vineyard. Owner also went above and beyond in providing a thoughtful welcome for us when we arrived at the property. No complaints at all and give a happy endorsement!

Great house! Clean, stocked well, and great location
Definitely recommend this cute little gem. Just a short little vacation for my Mom, son, husband n I. But it was worth it. This house was fully stocked with items I've never seen before when we have rented other homes. Very quite area, and perfect location! Not far from Old County Market. Lots of nice restaurants too choose from. Zoo, the next day, Bob Kerry Bridge, and a few Casinos, all where fairly close. I was very impressed! Thank you for having us:)

So glad to host you and your family. Very happy that you enjoyed your time in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area and you're stay at the Treehouse. You left the house absolutely immaculate which I greatly appreciate. You are awesome! Would be very happy to have you back any time you are in the area.
The house was cozy and very welcoming. Sharon was very helpful throughout the stay, offering us recommendations about what to do and answering any questions we had. She even had music playing when we arrived. The house was very clean and organized and had everything we needed. It was only about a 15 minute drive to Omaha, which was perfect for our relaxed mini vacation to the city. The only downside was the road to get to the house. It was a very steep one lane road. This wasn’t an issue, but definitely a surprise to us. We’d 100% stay here again, steep road and all!
Was traveling to Omaha to set my daughter up at Creighton and I was nervous about staying anywhere during COVID. But this was PERFECT and I will return to the Treehouse whenever I'm in town. Everything was perfect. It was super clean, incredibly easy to access, so private, and just beautiful. An oasis, really. I can't remember sleeping as well as I did here, even at home! The owner clearly travels a lot and includes even the smallest of details to make your visit perfect. For instance, she has a fully stocked coffee counter with Keurig (even the recyclable type!) and tea and hot chocolate and a cabinet stocked with chocolates in case you have a late night sweet tooth. She has both firm and soft pillows so you can choose what you prefer. There are clear instructions prominently placed throughout the home. I just loved the privacy, the beauty, the cleanliness and how flexible and kind the owner is. I stay in a lot of VRBO's and this is by far the best.

Thank you for your kind words, Kathleen. I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. You were a wonderful guest and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. About the host
Hosted by sharon
I am a Wyoming native whom has spent the past 30 years in Lincoln/Omaha raising my family.
My work has recently taken me to Iowa and opened up this hosting opportunity. Sharing the Treehouse with others offers me a chance to "return to my roots", and the joy of hosting and meeting people. My hope is that this will offer to you a comfortable and relaxing place to stay and help in your opportunity to have the best experience in whatever journey you have chosen.
Why they chose this property
Fell in love with the hills and the trees - closest thing in Iowa to a Wyoming mountainside. The neighborhood is safe, friendly and tight-knit. The house is set up to be extremely comfortable and the views and wildlife are beyond what I imagined. Enjoying all that, just 10 short minutes away is another world - the heart of bustling city life in downtown Omaha. Brunching in the Old Market, catching an evening concert, hopping over to the Zoo, Lauritzen Gardens or Museums on a regular basis just for fun. Leave the hustle and bustle behind with a smile, return to the Zen of the treehouse and sit comfortably on the patio. Watch the animals, listen to the birds chatter and the wind blow through the trees. It feels like paradise to me .
What makes this property unique
In the description choices from VRBO, it's hard to choose whether it's rural or city life - because it is BOTH. As noted above, one can relax on the front or back patio and enjoy the solitude of the trees, the beautiful music of the birds and the wildlife, or hop in a car and be in the middle of a bustling midwestern City with a multitude of activities and wonderful places to eat within 10 minutes. No traffic jams, no long lines - just easy. The Treehouse is the best of both worlds.
