Great place missed the paddle boat and board. Also no gas in tank for grill and no filters for the britta pitcher. The caretakers brought over a gas tank thank you

Thank you for your review. We glad you enjoyed your time at our house and on Lake Keowee. We feel the same as you about missing the paddle boat and board. However, they were severely damaged (after many well loved years) and could no long function properly. We have moved our extra gas tank to a location that will be easily available if you run out of gas. In addition, we replaced our housekeeping service, since it was their job to change the tanks out when necessary. We do hope that you will come back again.
we had a great stay at this beautiful house
the house was constructed using reclaimed wood and had a fantastic cabin feel
the deck and the water were great for relaxing
thanks again

My husband and I stayed here with our teen daughter and her best friend for several days of lake fun and it was the perfect house for that. Clean, comfortable, well stocked, well maintained, nice location, and quiet neighborhood. No complaints, we would happily stay here again!

Thank you for staying with us and for the kind words. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and had a great time on the lake.
Three September birthdays celebrated and enjoyed going to the Clemson game. A great time was had by all!. We grilled, kids swam, men road paddleboards and kayaks and they all went to Clemson for the FSU game. This was our second time staying here and will not be our last!
Loved our entire experience at this wonderful lake house. The location is ideal for exploring Lake Jocassee and the state parks of upstate SC. The layout of the house is really unique and we loved the upstairs porch and the basement patio. We loved the clean cove for swimming and the kayaks were a blast for all of us. We kayaked around the corner to the Keowee jumping rock which was only about a 20 minute paddle and it was well worth the effort! We look forward to returning to this great home.
Probably the best house I’ve booked for a vacation! Everyone with me agrees! Definitely did not disappoint. Loved having too docks and being able to use the boat dock to park mine in. Only issue I had was the driveway with my truck and boat trailer. Still doesn’t change my mind about this spot! Just got to use common sense and park across the road to make your parking easier. We will be back and hopefully get the same house!

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time at our house and on Lake Keowee! Yes, we have the spot cleared across the road for boat trailers, since the roundabout driveway was not designed for that.
Communication was always prompt and clear from request to rent to checkout. Great property for our family of 8 adults, and was easy for our grandparents to access and get around when they stopped over. We were here for a family wedding and had several different properties we visited. We should have had the grands stay with us! Boat dock worked well for everyone to get in and off the boat and enjoyed the kayak also. Nice clean and clear water in our cove. It was also quiet and very enjoyable place for us to hang out in the morning and evening. Enjoyed the screened porch, upper deck and lower patio. We would come back again.

This truly was a week in heaven. We had 9 family members here for a week and wished we had longer at the end. The building is beautiful and spacious. The hosts provided everything except beach towels and food. The paddleboard and kayaks were a blast. We loved having a covered boat house for our ski boat. The water is crystal clear (throughout the entire lake) and deep enough to dive off the dock. The cove was gorgeous and quiet. We were a 10 minute drive and 4 minute boat ride from the public boat launch. With 5 minutes in either direction on the water were multiple beaches. There was also a roughly 20 foot cliff within 5 minutes that we could boat to and jump off of. We loved that. Highly, highly recommend. We started looking for property on Keowee on our drive home!

Thank you for the lovely review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time at our house and on Lake Keowee! Our family also loves the jumping rock. We hope that you will come back again.
The home is lovely and the addition of the screened porch is a great. The house was not as stocked as we have found others to be.. had to use bath towels for lake, no little soaps available for shower, no additional trash bags other than one provided, very limited pantry items. We were bummed to find the one paddle board broken and without a fin. Surface cleaning was good but under furniture and between cushions lots of food, dust, etc. Grill was a mess when we arrived but easy to clean. We were also surprised to find no WIFI (in looking back could not find that it was a feature on the listing and wrongly assumed the house would have it). The property manager indicated that they use their Verizon hotspot.. that's great if you are prepared and have Verizon with unlimited data. We enjoyed our stay just wish we'd have been better informed and prepared.

Thank you for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and had a good time on the lake.
Your feedback is very helpful. All the amenities that you did not find are not listed as provided. It states in the listing that we do not provide beach towels, hand soaps or trash bags. We will add this info to our welcome letter to help people be prepared. It also states no wifi. Currently there is no reliable source for WiFi in our area (It is extremely frustrating). We have updated the listing to state this fact in the description (so it can't be missed). A company is working on laying fiber in the area to help solve this issue. We hope to have an option by the end of the year.
Our original rental got cancelled (for Clemson graduation weekend, no less) and I scrambled to find a new lake house that would work for 2 families w/17-21 yr old kids and my elder parents, both of whom have mobility issues. My parents split the upstairs bedrooms, my sister's fam took the downstairs rooms, and I wound up sleeping on the sofa (which was surprisingly comfortable...lol).
Tina's communication was wonderful and she was very gracious in replying to all my texts and questions. The house is well stocked, has great views, and we 1000% enjoyed the kayaks, pedal boat, and games. Cooking for 8-10 people was fine and the stocked kitchen made it easy to feed the group all at once. We loved the porches the best and spent most our time outside, which is NOT the norm for my parents, so I know they were a hit.
My only recommendations would be to add a bath mat or traction strips inside the main floor tub/shower. It's a beautiful bathroom, but the cast iron surface is incredibly slippery. The lock box is also tough to open, but have patience and the tumblers will work. (To be fair, the morning storms were awful and the number dials/tumblers would not stay in place, but a new box might eliminate that minor issue.)
We'd gladly stay at this house again and look forward to the next kid's graduation so we can. Go Tigers! :)

Dear Susan,
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at our lake house and we hope that you will come again. Thank you very much for the feedback. We will make sure to add a non-slip mat to the bathroom tub. The lock on the box has been removed, so it should be easier to open.
We have stayed at Keowee for many years on boating vacations. Our family had a very good time at this location. Really enjoyed the house. I would definatly stay here again. We always bring our own boat. We have a 24' center console that we tied up to the side of the dock. The water levels do fluctuate daily, and a few days I was concerned we might not be able to tie up if the lake level continued to drop. This never became an issue. This house/dock is tucked away in the back of a cove which I really prefer. This keeps the constant boater passings away from the dock. The other benefit it the trees provide a lot of shade to help cover the dock and boat from all day sun. If you are looking for the big lake views, this is not the house for you. That being said, there still is a very nice view of the cove, which I prefer. There is plenty of room to park a 24' boat/trailer in the drive. You will however need to be somewhat proficient at backing if you do. If you are, its not a problem. There is one caution you need to know about if you trailer your boat to the house. The drive from the main road down to the house is a single lane / very narrow. The problem occurs about half way to the house, there is a dip in the drive that will cause your boat motor to drag going in or out from the house. Make sure you stop and trim you engine all the way up before proceeding across the dip. Fortunately I was paying attention. And finally, be prepared to back your boat in to the first drive. The drive way is a circle drive but you will not be able to make it around the circle. Do not attempt that with the boat on the trailer, you will regret it if you do. Just back it in the first drive to the house you come to and all will be fine. Again, we have a 4 door F250 with a 24' boat that we got in and out with no problem.

Thank you for your kind review. We’re so glad you enjoyed your time at the house and on the lake. We hope that you come back and rent again.
We loved the location and the property. We visited in December and lucked out with some warm weather. This home is a Great Lake Location and we liked being on the north end of the lake as it is close to some great mountain hikes. Quiet, remote and well cared for property. Love it because it is homey and rustic yet nicely furnished. Price is reasonable, especially for the number of beds and flexibility.

About the host

We are full time Atlanta residents and have enjoyed Lake Keowee for summer family vacations.
Why they chose this property
This propery is in upper Lake Keowee where the water is slightly cooler and crowds smaller than the lower lake regions. Nestled in a cove, this home offers a safe place for our family to enjoy the water away from the main channel boat traffic.
