We had the loveliest long weekend at The Back Porch. Less one tiny cobweb, the house was immaculate, and the view to die for. Even though there are neighboring properties, you feel completely secluded. The property owner was very responsive. We did have to have a maintenance guy come out to deliver dry fire wood, as it had rained, and replace batteries in a chirping smoke detector and he was very kind and helpful. The listing goes over what is included in the starter pack of paper towels, dishwasher detergent, etc., so pay attention to that. If you're eating meals in, be prepared to run the dishwasher every day.
Hopefully, we'll be back!
This A-frame home was perfect for my husband and 15 year old! It was everything it looks like in the photos and as described. We found it very clean and comfortable. The view from the back of the house/porch/loft is spectacular. The check-in process was also extremely simple! Emily, our hostess, was very prompt and helpful with her responses when I reached out to her. Her instructions to the cabin were also accurate and most helpful! The house is located in a quiet, beautiful setting, but access to “town” is quite easy. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful place to get away with lots of natural lighting, this place is for you!!! My family had such a great experience here and would definitely stay here again!!!
We didn’t want to leave! Everything was perfect. The cabin was super clean, bright and airy, but cozy at the same time; and of course, beautifully decorated. Emily provides all the necessities and then some, which I love because I always forget those things. The whole aesthetic is honestly, just such a vibe and there’s a gorgeous view from the back porch, perfect for watching the sunrise. Even though we were maybe 10 minutes from town it felt like we were completely away from it all. The ‘neighborhood’ (there’s a couple homes near by) was super quiet, and felt very safe. Will definitely be staying here again! Emily knows what she’s doing!!
This property is adorable! It's immaculately clean and has incredible views of the Ozarks. Though we did not have children with us, if you do, the ladder to the upper bedroom would be quite a treat. We were only there for one night, but hope to return again. Many thanks to Emily for being such a great host. She communicated promptly and clearly.
The place is even more beautiful in person. The only complaint I have is that the pullout couch is not very comfortable, but other than that, this place is perfect!
We LOVED this place!!! The porch had a beautiful view, great for morning coffee and sitting and relaxing. It was very quiet and peaceful. The interior was very clean and beautifully decorated. My husband and I stayed in the bedroom, and our kids stayed up in the loft. Another great view from the loft. The kitchen was well equipped for all of our cooking needs. We made all our breakfasts in the cabin, took picnic lunches on our excursions, then cooked our fresh trout for dinner one night and used the grill another night. The location was great for all of our activities. Mountainview was 5 minutes away, Blanchard Springs, Gunnier Pool, hiking, the town of 56, Gravity BrewWorks, Sylamore Creek were all just a short drive. Thanks for such a nice place to visit!!!
PS - We heard the ticks were bad on the hiking trails, so even though my guys were not crazy about having to use it, I made a spray using essential oils (2 oz water, 2 oz apple cider vinegar, 20-40 drops total of a combination of cedarwood oil, citronella oil, and geranium oil).
This cabin was a wonderful mixture of modern and rustic. We absolutely loved staying here but our stay was cut short due to my father in laws passing. Great location for easy access to everything in Mountain View and the surrounding areas. We will be back.
This cabin is very modern and clean. Loved the fire pit out back overlooking beautiful mountains. Had to contact property manager once and had immediate response. Will stay here again!
Property was clean and welcoming. Plenty of space for our family of 4!
