We stayed here with another couple. Leading up to the stay Lynne was communicative and friendly. When we arrived the place and views were beautiful and Lynne was very accommodating without being intrusive. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough! We had a fantastic time and would definitely come stay again!
Sensational stay for our young family, the views were amazing & the pet pigs were awesome to have around. Really nice place, super warm & the floor heating was extra special!
Lynne was super easy to deal with & very helpful.
Spectacular views, unmatched serenity. Do not stay here if bright city lights are what you’re looking for - all you see here at night is millions of stars and by day you are surrounded by majestic mountain ranges. The home is very well appointed and seriously photos could never do it justice. Lynne is a gorgeous host and she even had the fire ready for us to light if we wanted it. We didn’t need extra warmth but lit the fire anyway and the glowing ambiance was the icing on the cake.
Perfect spot to return to for a peaceful evening after a day of winelands, biking, hiking (or winter sports). Everything has been thought of - from generous supply of coffee pods to expansive windows overlooking valley and mountains beyond. Piggies, birdcall and very comfortable bedding extra bonuses. I love finding special little places like this around the world.
Wow what a beautiful spot, the house the views were all five stars
The house was so comfortable, incredibly warm even though it was minus 5 outside, the view morning and evening stunning will definitely be staying again when we are next down that way
This is a very special property with amazing hosts! As a family we spent two weeks in this accomodation utilising it as a base for a skiing holiday. It’s well set up for a family with everything you would expect.
Beryl and Sheryl the resident pigs on the property were a huge hit with my 8 year old daughter.
We will be staying again and again I’m sure!
We had a fantastic time in a lovely property. Lynne was a fantastic host. Lovely rural location but so central at the same time - a perfect balance. We will definitely return.
Arriving at the property tells you instantly that you have chosen well, the view and surrounds are just fabulous.
Modern and comfortable unit which is quiet and relaxing.
Home cooking in the fridge and fresh boysenberries with breakfast. Lynne is a fantastic, caring host.
We absolutely loved staying in this magical place. It is luxurious and the property is stunning with amazing scenery. There is so much attention to detail which made us feel very welcome. It is right in the heart of vineyard country and biking trails. Would love to stay again.
A very beautiful setting and the accom had all we needed and more to make our stay very enjoyable. We were able to barbecue our own dinner which was very pleasant and the sweet treat was appreciated.
This is our second stay and definitely won’t be our last! Beautiful home and property and a great location for exploring Central Otago. Thanks again Lynne and Tony
Property presented well with lovely outlook to hills. Excellent heating did not require the fire. We found the kitchen area small though well equipped, it was difficult to manage breakfast requiring using the toaster in the lounge!
We also understood the property to be located in Bannockburn not the Gibbston Valley. Though the Valley is beautiful we preferred Bannockburn area.

About the host

Hello Tony and I are passionate about living in this beautiful region. Tony is a keen gardener and we have been self employed for 30 years. We love skiing in the winter, jet boating and hiking and biking around our beautiful region. When we get time off we love visiting new countries, and seeing your back yard.
Why they chose this property
We have lived in Gibbston for 15 years. 148 was just a paddock when we arrived but now we have many native and exotic trees in our garden and are enjoying seeing the bird life returning. Autumn is especially beautiful in this region with the change of season. We love being amongst the mountains and enjoy each seasons change to our scenery. We have been sharing our property with visitors for 11 years and enjoy meeting new people. We always greet you upon arrival, to show you around but after that we leave you to explore and enjoy your space in private. That being said we are always happy to have a chat over a glass of wine. You decide.
What makes this property unique
Our most unique benefit is the most amazing mountain views and sense of space , so different from city living. The other benefit to living here is that we are centrally located to all that the region has to offer. Queenstown and Arrowtown for day trips and evening dining but also scenic day trips to Glenorchy, Wanaka, Cromwell and Bannockburn.
