Urban Central Suburbs Villa (Room)

Relax in your comfortable double room featuring a queen-sized bed in a charming Ponsonby villa. Guests enjoy access to the backyard, sunny deck, and outdoor terrace surrounded by plants, as well as modern open-plan living spaces with a smart TV (Netflix, etc.). The kitchen is available for food storage and preparing light meals, and we have two outdoor BBQs for alfresco dining on sunny days.

For added comfort, the property has central heating and air conditioning.

Start your day with a light complimentary breakfast of tea/coffee, juice, cereals, and yoghurt. We can also provide meals by prior arrangement—just let us know in advance.

If you’re heading to the beach, we’re happy to offer a beach pack with towels, chairs, and more. The beautiful Herne Bay beaches are only a short stroll away, perfect for a relaxing day by the water.

The bathroom, shared with us, is modern and well-maintained. The property itself is shared, but we’re friendly and flexible hosts who are happy to interact as much or as little as you prefer.

Ponsonby and Herne Bay, known for boutique shopping, cafés, bars, and restaurants, are just a short stroll away. We’re on a quiet street with city and suburban views, yet close to Auckland CBD (5 min drive/30 min walk).

Public transport is conveniently located just a minute’s walk away, and there’s a supermarket only a block from the property. On-street parking is free and doesn’t require permits.

We share our home with three friendly cats - two Burmese and a Mandalay - who might keep you company or lounge in their favourite sunny spots.

Great property and location!

Richard and Simon are wonderful but their cats are better ! Who doesn’t want to be greeted by a hugging cat ? Our hosts were full of excellent recommendations and went out of their way to help us out. The house is lovely and the neighbourhood is walkable, flush with cafes and restaurants. Great stay.

Thanks for ensuring my washing was dried and returned when I was reluctant to brave the wet weather. Very central location. Very quiet room. Perfect bed to pander to my sciatica unfortunately my husband found the mattress a bit hard (he has lost some weight and has less padding than me). Thanks for hosting us.

Central, comfortable and caring

Simon and Richard’s home was perfect for an overnight stay, and we were warmly welcomed to their beautifully appointed home. Parking for our car was easy, and being so close to Ponsonby was perfect for eating out and entertainment. Public transport and Uber would also be a good option. And their three cats are beautiful!

We felt welcome and well looked after in a lovely, beautifully clean, renovated character home where we could come and go at our leisure and be included or not as we so wished. The property was highly specked and comfortable, close to fab eateries in Herne Bay and Ponsonby. A great find. Thank you!

My partner and I very much enjoyed our stay here. The Hosts were really lovely and easy going, great communicators, and tentative to our needs. Their house is in a superb location of Auckland - modern facilities, close to transport, bars/cafes, swimming bay, and a stones throw from the CBD. Our stay was made very comfortable with the room having everything you need and at a good price point. I would recommend this bookabatch to couples or alone travellers looking for a great Auckland stay!

In addition to a wonderful setting to relax in they provided some great tips about what to do in town and how to get about the beautiful city of Auckland. Staying with them was like visiting relatives ? the kind you like to visit! ? and we would certainly return to their home again if the opportunity presented itself.

The house is a 2 bedroom 1 bath.

The house is a 2 bedroom 1 bath. He rents out one and you share the bathroom with the owners. The place has been remodeled beautifully and it was totally comfortable to share the bathroom. I thought because I was traveling with my 26 yr old daughter and I am 63 yrs old this would be an issue but it was not. The bedrooms can be separated from the living room/ kitchen area by a big glass door so you don't hear any noice from the TV/ kitchen area. Beautiful back patio that we had breakfast on.
