We stayed for three nights over New Year's; the house was very clean and had plenty of space for the seven of us staying. The bach owners were really nice and provided heaps of information. Sky TV and a large back deck and yard were great features.

We all really enjoyed our stay at this awesome bach in Cooks beach.
We all really enjoyed our stay at this awesome bach in Cooks beach. It was spacious both inside and out. The sleeping spaces are located on the first floor which is great acoustically. There is a beautiful back yard where we enjoyed playing badminton and cricket. Close to the beach and shops - we also enjoyed the chest of board games for both kids and adults - great spot!
Centrally located with the beach across a reserve and next to shops. All the amenities needed in a kiwi back for a relaxed week away. Garden was a bonus for our dog, it was great to be able to take her with us. Chris was very helpful and responded quickly to queries. Really enjoyed our stay.
This place was awesome for a big group. Lots of space and beds to easily accommodate 2-3 families, shop, bar and bottle store within 100m, and a very short walk to the beach. It was a very comfortable place to stay, but could benefit from a few easy improvements, dryer wasn’t working and dishwasher only intermittently, shower pressure isn’t the best and only 4 glasses in the pantry for a house that sleeps 10. Nothing major and overall we all really enjoyed our stay there.

Cooks Beach Bach
Lovely location, however the place needs a good clean and TLC. Mouse traps set above stove in kitchen was off-putting. Downstairs shower and bathroom full of spiders and cobwebs. Needs a good vacuum clean as well. Downstairs sponge matress very thin, not suitable for an adult. Pitty there was no wifi.

The house was thoroughly cleaned before this group entered. Ironically they did no cleaning before leaving and I had to hire cleaners for 3.5 hours after they left.
This bach has an ideal setting close to the beach and restaurants. Although slightly tired there are new appliances and the seating and bedding is ideal for a large family holiday. The outdoor area works well, with a new BBQ and seating. I was concerned with the previous commentary about the timber merchants being adjacent to the bach however I have stayed in other bach's which were noisier with traffic noise. The shower pressure was low but it was a beach holiday and the outside tap sufficed to wash the salt off. I recommend this bach for a large family group.
Great spot for a family getaway - plenty of room for everyone one and great for entertaining. House is just like the pictures. Located in a prime spot walking distance to local shops and only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Only downfall would be the shower pressure.
Thanks for our stay in your awesome batch we would love to come back!
Great size house for the family group of 10. The location was perfect. I had doubts about being beside the shops but that proved to be a real bonus. The house suited us very well.
We all had a awesome time. Great location, very family freindly house and great place and weather
Very good house to stay at with a great location, easy to shops and beach....nice big house and family freindly. Kids enjoyed the board games at night 👍
Excellent location, handy to shops but only a stroll to the beach. Well appointed, easy care and very comfortable house. Perfect for our family with older teens, lovely shady garden too.
Lovely big Kiwi Bach in premium location at Cooks beach. Big garden for the kids to play in and lots of toys, games and entertainment for the whole family.
Great location to beach and shops, spacious , comfortably houses 8 plus, 3 bathrooms, large fenced back yard with indoor/outdoor flow, big decks with sail shade plus umbrella cover for table - makes for a relaxing beach holiday.
Lovely stay , the service lane right next door is very busy , and the business next door was a little bit off putting as had his buzz saw and air filling machine going non stop, not as quiet a location as I’d hoped , the property itself was lovely though and had most of what you’d need ,great if you have different age groups like us ,you could all go to your space and rest.chris was lovely to deal with and we appreciated the extra help five star house five star service just location a little noisy
Lovely garden, plenty of beds and room for everyone. We had a wonderful stay and will be back. Was hard to leave.

About the host
Hosted by Capt Cook
We love coming to our beach house where we can relax or actively enjoy days at the beach, badminton and other outdoor games on the back lawn. Our favourite day out is hard to name, with a ferry trip to Whitianga for brunch, a trip to Hahei and visit to Cathedral Cove, or a soak in your own self-made hot pool at Hot Water Beach, or a lovely bush walk up to Shakespeare Cliff Lookout where you get an incredible view over Mercury Bay and Cooks Beach and beyond. How can I choose?
Why they chose this property
Cooks Beach is so close to many Coromandel gems, the beach itself is divine , or you can choose a freshwater estuary swim. Jump into the water from the high rope if you dare. Whitianga is a 5 minute ferry trip across the channel and a 3 minute walk you are in Whitianga. Hahei & Hot Water Beach are only a 10 min drive away.
What makes this property unique
The property is very centrally located, with a 1 min walk to the dairy, fish and chip shop, ice-cream parlour, morning barista made coffee (In peak holiday times). Two restaurants are within that 1 minute walk. A 2 minute walk to Cooks Beach for your daily swim, or just enjoying time on the sand with a good book. The home is big enough for everyone to have their own space for quiet time. Plus 3 bathrooms so there's never a wait for a shower. Roomy lounge with smart TV and board games and books to enjoy. Big outdoor deck with room for everyone to congregate. Large back yard with plenty of room to play badminton or other outdoor games. Plenty of off street parking plus room for your boat.
