Place was great, Owner wasn’t!
Loved the place! Was clean & spacious. However, having no driveway should’ve been noted on the website as you need to walk up hill to get to the house. Also, having the owner stay Nextdoor & spying on you & how many people come visit you but assuming they’re extra guests was annoying. I paid for 3 guests & she offered a 4th person to stay free one night. But she saw our family come visit us throughout the weekend & tried to charge me extra because she thought they stayed but they didn’t. Would’ve appreciated her confirming with me during the weekend if they were guests or not rather than calling me when we checked out & demanding for payment then getting someone from homeaway to contact me regarding this. I was not charged in the end for this after speaking to homeaway about the issue! However I would not like this to happen again or for another guest to go through it as well.
Not quite finished
The property exterior was very rundown & in need of some TLC. I expected more from the property - photos didnt show shabby drafty windows. Bathroom was in desperate need of an overall & the house was very cold inspite of the two heaters supplied. Upstairs bedroom was cozy with great views which made the experience worth while.
Great location, great views
Unfortunately we staid only one night, but this is a lovely spot also for groups with plenty of space and fantastic views of the ocean and Mt Taranaki. Susan is easy to communicate with and quick to reply. The house is in need of improvements, but a great base for activities in the area. Will be back.
Not what was advertized
Not a property i would recommend. The worst house i have ever rented. On the good side the linen was the fresh and clean. The house was musty tired needs upgrading. Shower was old , mouldy and had little water pressure. . The only bathroom and toilet is down stairs from the bedrooms and the stair well has no hand rail.
We were intending to have a barbeque but it was so filthy it could not be cleaned or used. What appeared to be dangerous cables crossed the outside deck at head height.
No off street parking and a big walk up a very steep path to the house.
If i thought i could get a refund i would ask for it.
Taranaki Bach holiday stay
Loved the stay accommodation suitable for our needs. Would like to stay next time on a flat section , due to bad knees. Found it a bit of a struggle.Would like properties to say if on hill side or flat section. Otherwise everything fine
