About this property

Cosy, Warm Bungalow by the Sea

A very comfortable and warm bungalow with beach access to a beautiful beach. The bungalow is just 15 minutes drive south of Dunedin's CBD and 7 mins to the nearest supermarket.
The property is safe for children or a pet and is 20 minutes away from the Taieri Mouth fishing village and the scenic Millennium river walking track. Brighton Beach, just 5 minutes driving distance away, is a great surfing beach.
Please note that our house is also on this property but we respect guests' privacy.

If you are bringing a dog/dogs, the conditions are as follows:
Please let us know you are bringing your dog when inquiring or booking.
Their own bedding is required
Dogs are not allowed on our bedding or furniture.
Must be supervised when outside unless tied up as the entire property is not completely fenced

Lovely little cottage, short walk to long beach

A cute little cottage. We enjoyed walks along the beach and a swim (despite the coolish weather). Easy access by car to Dunedin. Good cooking facilities.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Such an amazing property located with a private beach access, was a wonderful stay thankyou very much to the hosts, the wee surprise homemade shortbread were absolutely delicious. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Amazing bungalow by the sea

We were caught in the midst of a crazy amount of rain, having to commute twice a day to the ice rink for our son's ice hockey tournament. Although the weather caused quite some worry, having such a lovely and cosy bungalow to return to made a world of difference. The communication from Janne was amazing and also checked in with us when the roads started closing. The bungalow is very clean and neat and well furnished with everything you need. Beautiful spot with a quick and peaceful walk to the beach. Thank you Janne for making our stay less stressful.

Cosy bungalow with lots of natural light

Warm and cosy with plenty of natural light. Just a short walk to the beach and you dont have to cross any roads. Well stocked with everything you might need.

Dunedin weekend

Very tidy and have all available amenities in place and have quick access to the beach; very good location and not far to drive to cafes, other beaches, etc. A bit noisy from cars on the road which is just normal and not affected us. Had enjoyed our stay and was able to relax well. Will definitely recommend the place to our friends and relations.

Great for short breakaway - or longer

We stayed 4 nights but could have been comfortable for longer, it really had everything we needed to be a home from home. Loved being so close to the sea with beach access direct via the owners garden.

Our stay was short, visiting relatives nearby. Ocean View was immaculately presented, many thoughtful extras. Janne was wonderful to have contact with. I thoroughly recommend Ocean View if you are staying in Brighton Beach area.

We moved to Ocean View in 2018. Our property is perfect for us, being by the sea and a short drive into Dunedin which offers so much in the way of art and culture.
Janne grew up in Dunedin before leaving to teach in Canterbury, North Otago, Central Otago and much closer to home - Brighton- now known as Big Rock. Ray grew up in Melbourne and has spent much of his life as a stonemason in Queenstown.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property for the specific reason that it has a house as well as a self contained bungalow providing us with the choice to use the bach for additional accommodation for family or for guests.

What makes this property unique

The bungalow provides us with the opportunity to meet travellers and others who are here to visit for events, holidays and concerts. The property has beach access which we particularly love.
