A great spot to relax and unwind with expansive rural and sea views, a front deck to enjoy the sunshine, large lounge and lovely sun room to hibernate in on cooler days. A five minute drive will get you to ocean beach and Te Puia hot springs where you can dig your own pool to relax and sooth your aches away. Five minutes walking will get you to the beach and wharf and an opportunity to visit the local museum to discover the extensive maori history of the area.

Zero complaints. Loved our stay. The house is quite large with several different spaces, which is nice when you’re there with a group.

Great place to stay

Had 3 couples stay, plenty of parking for us all and our boat. Lovely spacious home, good sized covered deck out back. Easy to walk down to the shops and pub, would highly recommend.

Lovely stay

We had a fantastic stay visiting family near by. The house is in a stunning location with excellent views. The property is a generous size and very clean and tidy. Perfect for our weekend getaway. Patsy was lovely when we corresponded before and after our stay. Would definitely revommend!

Always enjoy our stay in Kaawhia

I regularly book this accommodation for an annual tribal event in Kaawhia, it's always tidy, cozy and spacious for us all who stay each year. Patsy is so lovely, easy to communicate with and always accommodating. It's a real joy and privilege to stay here every year. Highly recommend to large groups and families.

Beautiful whare!

We had a wonderful stay in Kawhia - Patsy’s bach is the perfect place for a lovely weekend get away. Plenty of space for everyone and a gorgeous garden with lots of sun to enjoy. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Thank you Patsy for making it so easy for us. Will definitely be back again!

Unforgettable experience!

The house is spacious, well-furnished and well-equipped. Kawhia is a fascinating settlement steeped in history, and the beaches and bays are superb. Patsy shared her love of her hometown, as well as the history of the area. She was an exceptional host, and we thank her sincerely.

Home away, from home if you want to get away

Great communication from Patsy, even after our plans changed unexpectedly because of the Covid lockdown. The house was better than anticipated, had everything we needed, heaps of room inside for us 5 adults, lots of parking space and spotless. Thanks so much for your hospitality Patsy we all loved our weekend away and will be back.

Well worth the drive

The property was tidy and well kept and the house spacious, comfortable and well equipped. There were even spades provided for visiting the hot water beach! The scenery out to Kawhia is beautiful and well worth the drive. Also loved swimming at Ocean Beach. Patsy is delightful - very friendly and welcoming. Our first visit to Kawhia was most enjoyable and we certainly hope to return in the future.

Great host, good location, would stay again.

Our host Patsy was very helpful and called ahead before we arrived to assist us with the how and when of check-in. She even came to the house when our plans changed and we arrived early. She was very friendly and helpful, suggesting we keep our bikes safe in the garage as an extra. Bed was comfy, kitchen had all of the necessaries, good spot and the new deck roof at the rear made a great spot to relax outside, no matter the weather. Great trip.

Happy non - fishers!

A super clean, tidy, and comfortable place to stay in laid back Kawhia, The ever changing view over the harbour as the tide rolled in and out was very relaxing and even though the fishing trip was cancelled due to the big swell we had some quality time to chill out. What a beautiful home, so comfortable and welcoming after a long stressful week at work. My sister inlaw was supposed to come from Hastings but couldn't make it at the last minute due to health reasons so my brother in-law and partner stayed. Just Perfect

Had two superb days here on our second trip to Kawhia. Love the very clean and tidy house, the views and the three lawn mowers who came to visit! (sheep) Patsy, our host, made everything so easy adding to a wonderful feeling of relaxation. Beds very comfortable, kitchen very easy to work in. We were all most reluctant to leave and return to town on Sunday. Thank you so much for our lovely happy time, from all four of us. Jenny
