About this property

Boasting the best views in the village

Take some time out from the fast pace of life and enjoy a stay at this brand new house located in an outdoors paradise. Simple but practical you will find everything you need when you come back from a day of skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, walking and other adventures.

One of the best spots in the village this house backs onto the Craigieburn Forest Park and the Thomas River. You'll have access to walking and biking tracks at your back door. Five ski-fields providing a variety of experiences are all within 20-30 minutes drive. World class bouldering can be found by driving 10 minutes east of the village to Castle Hill (Kura Tawhiti) scenic reserve. If you are wanting something a little more mellow then a walk around these very same boulders will have you in awe. Or during the summer months if you're feeling a little more adventurous you could check out cave stream 5 minutes west of the village. There is even a rustic golf course across the road.

The house is light and airy with windows galore to let the sun in and capture the unique landscape of the surrounding ranges. Being new it is fully insulated and double glazed. The builder had a blast trying out some cool interior finishing techniques to set this place apart from the crowds.

Linen sets for each bed and towels are provided.

Just over an hour from Christchurch, you can stock up before you escape the rat race. It's just a 20 mins drive down to Springfield to refuel.

Give it a go, once you've tried it you're bound to be back for more.

Simple and comfortable setup with great views out to the mountains. The house was very clean and the fireplace was put to good use with the unseasonable weather. The house held its heat well. The kitchen was well kitted out and had all the equipment we needed including sharp knives. Beds were comfortable and the pillow selection was varied which was a bonus.

Everything you could possibly hope for in a little cabin tucked away in the mountains. Great views 360 degrees around the property. Huge kitchen, nice wood stove for heat, and close enough by local attractions. Wish i couldve stayed longer

Cosy secret hideaway

This cosy chalet was a real surprise. Had never been to Castle Hill before. Very handy to both incredible stone formations and also Arthurs Pass and skifields Chalet has wonderful warm fireplace and all amenities.

It was perfect place to come back to after a day of skiing and exploring. We loved the warm fire and the great functional kitchen, thank you very much! We lost power on the last night (to much snow fall!) So we where unable to vacuum sorry!..

The best spot for relaxation and fun!

We were really impressed with this property. Really great communication with the owners and easy instructions. The house is in such a great location within Castle Hill and so quiet. No tv was a bonus as well as a log burner that heated the house so well. Will definitely book this house again!

Fantastic Spot

We loved our weekend in Castle Hill. The house is really comfortable and has a fantastic fire so warms up really quickly even when frosty. Great instructions from the owners. Spectacular views.
