Natural Lake and widespread views with family sized apartment/house

Very central to Abel Tasman National Parks, Nelson Lakes, Mapua Village, and Kina Peninsula. Kaiteriteri is only 20 minutes away and the Motueka Wharf only 2 minutes away. The bike trail is only round the corner from our property. Straight off the Coastal Highway, very easy to find and yet set in a rural setting but also views to the Tasman Bay Sea. Enjoy beautiful swimming lake with rope swing and pontoon, and large grass areas, a treehouse for the children with slide and firemans pole and a large concrete area to park your boat or ride your bike on.

Incredibly comfortable place to stay

Has everything you could need, very clean and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had on holiday. The lake is fantastic and the kids loved using the paddle boards and rope swing.

We stayed here for a few days in March 2023. The place was neat, clean and pleasant - it has the feel of being somebody’s everyday home. It is located in a rural setting (with a little light industrial around) a long way back from the road - the sounds you hear through the day reflect the setting, as does the silence at night. Arrival arrangements were simple and easy to manage. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Appliances we used all worked as expected. There is split system air conditioning to the living area. The bedrooms have portable heaters and fans. The unit is upstairs (one level above ground), but all located on one level inside. The bed we used was comfortable, as was the lounge. (You might get a few mosquitoes at night with the windows open.) There is an outdoor deck which is a good size, partially under cover. The place gets full afternoon sun, although the outdoor table and chairs on the deck enjoy the shade of a tree in the afternoon. Wifi is included with download and upload speeds around 7-8 Mbps and 1 Mbps respectively. Netflix was also available (although with the connection speed you may need a little patience at startup) - it is on a plan shared with the host family. Sky TV is also available. Parking is outdoors, although you are a substantial distance from road and passing traffic/people.

Home from home!

Yvette and family were more than accommodating and so helpful. Her communication was fantastic! I was able to share a wonderful weekend with family and friends to celebrate my 50th - something that I thought might not happen after my first attempt was delayed due to Covid. However Yvette changed the dates for me and I got to celebrate - THANK YOU!! The only note I would add is that the Bach is not a stand alone home and joined to the main house - something I hadn't expected from the listing and therefore not quite as private as I thought. Thanks again Yvette, we wish you all the best and happy travels x

This truely was an awesome holiday from start to finish, we arrived as the sun was setting and the boys could not wait to get in the natural spring lake, everything was supplied at this piece of paradise that you could think of, outside bath, sup boards and the environment reminded of being at a resort with a lovely reminder of being on a farm with sheep in the neighbouring property. A true holiday with thanks to Yvette and Ross for sharing this special place with us! We will be back for sure… thanks from all of our family! Rosalie 😊

Highly recommend this property

The property was perfect for our it group which included ages from grandparents to a 3-year-old. There was heaps of space in the apartment. The kitchen was a great size and we especially appreciated the large fridge and pantry. The crowning glory though was the swimming pond, complete with pontoon, paddle boards and life jackets, and the fantastic pavilion there complete with bbq, fridge and dishwasher! It was hard to get the children to leave the property to do anything else. It was very handy to Motueka and the supermarkets. We felt very welcome and really enjoyed our time at Mariri Heights.

Stunning home away from home

I'm tempted not to give a good review as I want to keep it to ourselves! A totally enjoyable experience! The host family were super friendly and helpful. The pond was such a bonus after a hot day at the beach and the view was remarkable. Comfortable and clean with great facilities. A simple building but it worked for my family if five with everything I needed. Thanks so much for sharing this as a gateway to your stunning part of New Zealand.

Amazing experience.

This property is the whole package. The apartment was sparkling clean with lovely amenities and great indoor/outdoor space. The even more amazing part were the lovely accomodating hosts, nothing was too much trouble from parking a very large trailer boat to having our dog running about. No long list of rules or do’s and don’t’s which made it so easy to relax in this gorgeous property. Can’t recommend it highly enough

Tranquil Retreat

From the warm greeting of our host, to the beautiful views of the mountains, this bach is everything you expect and more. I am a busy mum of 4 children (3 teenagers and 1 adult). I love to exercise and go running/walking around the estuary which is close by. I love meeting new people and enjoy seeing travellers enjoy our special piece of paradise. My husband is an international pilot so to be able to be a stay at home mum and run my business from home is a real blessing. My husband loves to improve our 7-acre property when he is home and has completed an outdoor kitchen area by our swimming pond which is available to all guests to use. It really is our Bali Oasis!

Why they chose this property

We are very unique as we live rurally yet we are only a 5 minute drive into the town of Motueka. Our access is directly off the Coastal Highway and boasts views to the Tasman Bay and also Mountain Views to Mt Arthur. Our 7-acre property is landscaped and we have a unique pond which is spring fed by fresh running water. It is safe to swim in and is sheltered by northern summer winds and is situated perfectly for the setting sun. It has an outdoor kitchen, rope swing, diving platform and a Boeing 737 cockpit to explore and relax in.

What makes this property unique

A place to stop and regroup before or after the Abel Tasman National Park. A place to socialise and have group gatherings at the private lake. We also have loads of parking for your boat or campervan.
