Beautiful cabin! Very clean and well furnished. Our grandchildren loved the loft and game room. The big table in the kitchen is perfect for family game time and meals. We hiked the water falls trail on the property and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. The owner was very prompt in replying to any questions. We are already talking about our next trip and will most definitely stay here again.
Quick trip with friends. Cabin was perfect with 2 king size ensuites on the first floor. Wonderful porch to hang out on with electric fireplace and hot tub.
We loved our stay at Papa Bear's Retreat. Perfect size for two couples and three kids. The kids loved the community basketball hoop and play ground. The adults loved hanging out on the deck. Great stay.
The cabin was stunning. It was better than the pictures. Our kids loved the loft with the bunk beds and games. The kitchen was well stocked. The outside space made the trip even better. Everything was clean when we arrived. Highly recommend.
Our family had an amazing stay at this beautiful mountain cabin! The adult kids couldn’t get enough of the hot tub, while my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the cozy fireplace. The large kitchen table was perfect for making gingerbread houses together, which was such a fun family activity. We were thrilled to find the cabin already decorated for Christmas, complete with a festive tree that added to the holiday spirit. The whole experience was magical—would highly recommend for a perfect getaway!
The property looks even better in person and the location was perfect. We loved everything about the property and would go back again. The owner was quick to respond to any questions that we had. It was easy to get to an easy to get around from.
This cabin is amazing and has become my new happy place in the mountains! Perfect location for our family of 5 away from the crowds but close enough we didn't have a long drive. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Priscilla was very easy to communicate with and answers all our questions promptly. We will definitely return again and again!
There was ice on the ramp leading into the house. The lantern on the porch being held by the bear is broken. The fireplace on the back porch will go out for a second then fire back up again. It did this several times. Cabin itself is beautiful.
There was dried wax on the dining table and some crumbs on the counter. Coffee pot and stove top needs to be scrubbed.
But over all great place to stay. Thank you.
The cabin is new and beautiful! All sleeping arrangements were comfortable and all linens/towels provided were of good quality. We ate at the cabin the entire stay to avoid public places as much as possible and felt that we had everything we needed besides our groceries. Grocery stores were a quick 15 minute drive away, as was the main strip in Pigeon Forge. Close enough, but still out in the woods and the cabin feels secluded. We enjoyed the pool, basketball hoop, horseshoe pits, catch and release pond and nature trail within the resort. All were within walking distance of the cabin, which was nice. The kids loved having their own area upstairs (and we liked that too.) They also enjoyed playing the games that are at the cabin. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the BIG deck throughout the week. One thing to note: there are security cameras all around the deck that could make one feel like they may be being watched. I can't say it bothered us any, but I felt it is good to note. The owner was quick to respond and helpful with questions. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!
This property was perfect for a 2 families with 4 smaller children ages 3-10. The loft area contains oversized bunkbeds and a pull-out sleeper sofa; that was exactly what we were looking for to keep the kids all together in one room.
The cabin itself is gorgeous. The bear theme is a nice touch and the kids loved it. And, as if on cue, we saw a bear on the back porch on our last full day there. No harm, just checking the place out.
There is plenty of room for a larger family. We were 8 and never felt crowded. The dining table can even seat up to 12. The kitchen was fully stocked for nearly everything you would need including a lot of left behind seasonings and coffee filters. Even the K-Cup drawer was stocked.
I've stayed in cabins in the area for many years and this is one of our favorites. I've been in places where access may be a bit tough for some vehicles, but this area is lower and you would not need to deal with the steep inclines. Access was very easy for my son's van with all of the kids. This was another criteria for us.
Communication with the owner and check-in, plus instructions were great. I contacted Priscilla prior to, and during our stay, and she was extremely quick to respond.
Thank you for a great weekend. We will definitely keep this location on our list for future visits.
Highly recommend this property and its fab host! I think the other reviewers hit all the high points and we agree whole heartedly. I would add that even though the cabin is situated in the woods we were amazed at the lack of insects. We were able to enjoy the beautiful porches, outdoor fireplace and nearby trail without the annoyance of swatting bugs away. Not one mosquito bite. Amazing. We will definitely be back.
This was one of the nicer VRBO’s we’ve stayed in! The kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of towels! The hot tub was a huge hit. Beds were noisy but very comfortable! We appreciated the close proximity to Pigeon Forge. Would definitely stay again!
Beautiful, well-kept cabin. Many essentials that are not usually furnished were there for our use. The porch was especially nice, with numerous chairs, rockers and tables.
We were amazed at the beauty of this home. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We felt very comfortable during our entire stay!!We had a couple of our grandchildren and their other grandparents come for dinner one evening and they too were impressed with the place!!Thank you for making our trip memorable!

About the host
Hosted by Priscilla Taylor
We are a retired couple who wanted a place we could come with our grandchildren and could also rent to help pay expenses for the cabin and hopefully provide a little extra income. We love the Smokies, and the grandchildren love to go to Dollywood and Splash Country.
Why they chose this property
This property is in the gorgeous Cedar Falls Resort which has a catch and release pond, basketball goal, swimming pool, playground, chapel, pavilion, and nature walk. The cabin has a little creek by it, and it's got 0.65 acres, so it's pretty secluded from other cabins. Since we are getting older, we wanted a ramp at the entrance instead of steps, and we wanted grab bars in the bathrooms. We don't have to go up any stairs to get to the bedrooms or bathrooms or hot tub or decks. We only have to go upstairs if we want to play pool or the arcade game. We enjoy rocking on the peaceful decks and just relaxing and listening to nature.
