About the host
Your host
Caloundra Houseboats is owned by husband and wife, Ken and Julie. Ken is a qualified marine skipper, and drives a 72 person cruise boat when he's not showing guests how to operate the houseboat. Ken is a water baby - a very keen sea kayaker and only recently sold his jetski hire and safari business.
Why they chose this property
Ken and Julie established this business in 2022 because they saw demand for houseboats on the Ramsar listed Pumicestone Passage Marine Park. They purchased the Wallamba from New South Wales and had it trucked to Caloundra - they went to these extraordinary lengths because the Wallamba, or Wally, is a Coher 45 - a houseboat with a fantastic reputation for safety and comfort.
