This was the perfect stay: a beautiful, cozy, clean, and well cared for guest home, fully stocked with everything a guest could want and need. We immediately felt right at home. I usually have trouble sleeping when I’m traveling, but I had amazing sleep here (hat tip to the incredibly comfortable bed and soft bedding!) The fireplace in the living room was an especially welcome feature at the end of a full late-October day of eating and tasting. The location is gorgeous and centrally located, too. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect wine country cottage

The property exceeded all our expectations. Newly renovated cottage with every amenity you could possibly want. Even better than the pictures suggest. The house was beautiful and comfortable plus the perfect location to enjoy all the local wineries. Dan stopped by to make sure we were settled in and answered all our questions about the area.Will definitely stay again when we come back next summer.

The Barn Owl home exceeded expectations for our fun Girls Weekend (getaway for two 60 friends from Metro Detroit). Extremely well appointed- the hosts thought of everything guests could need- and then some! Adorable home was very clean and host communication was great. We rode the retro/cruiser bikes to the nearby marina for sunset. Explored several Essex wineries and the Uncommon Festival in Amherstburg. Highly recommend, and we look forward to returning.

Dan was an excellent host - responsive to inquiries and stopped by to check us in and make sure everything was good. Very recently renovated (good craftsmanship) property. New "everything" throughout. Especially loved the sticky buns awaiting us on the kitchen counter! LOTS of vineyards/wineries nearby. Our stay was short but enjoyable (three wineries was our limit! Will definitely stay here again if we come to the Essex Wine Country!
