The walkout basement apartment is beautiful& spacious & has lots of natural light. It’s organized, clean & comfortable. The tv & fireplace is nice for cuddling up on the couch & watching movies. We loved the private sauna that is attached to the bathroom. Even though Abdul & his family live above the apartment, the noise was minimal. Abdul is a fantastic host & highly recommend.
Overall we were thrilled with the place. The beds were perfect, bathroom and kitchen well supplied and very clean (modern). There are only a few comments - the heating seemed to be on a programmed timers which constantly over ride our settings - this caused some concerns as place got cold and had to constantly heat up even when we were present. This included if i went to set the temp - to say 21 degrees, I would then find it at 17. As it was a basement this caused the floors to be cold as well. I would suggest changing the schedule when the unit is rented and defer to the tenant - it was minus 20 when we were there. Only other issue is we could hear some banging later at night above us from the main unit. not a huge deal but if you have young ones this could be a concern as was loud. The host communicated great to us and we would definitely stay again as the issues are easily overcome and not major. the fact the unit is modern, clean and has a great living space and bedrooms is key - way better than any hotel between downtown calgary and canmore. great value.
