We had a great stay. The space was lovely and the location/neighborhood was great. We were in walking distance to the arboretum and to Husky stadium, which is what brought us to the area. Katya was great with communication, responded quickly and was helpful. It was perfect for our long weekend.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review, we really appreciate it! Yes, the apartment is indeed brand-new!
We stayed while my son recovered from surgery at Harborview. Close enough to hospital but far enough away that we felt safe in the neighborhood. Apartment is super cute and had all we needed for our stay!

This was the perfect place for my family. There was more than enough space for everyone. Photos look exactly like what’s posted on the listing. We were visiting friends who live in the area and it was just minutes away from their home. It’s a lovely neighborhood that’s just a short drive to downtown Seattle.

Thank you so much for your lovely and informative review, we really appreciate it!
The hosts were friendly, helpful and it was easy to communicate with them. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay (beds were quite comfortable). I was able to prepare a meal for six. The kitchen had everything I needed and more and there was plenty of room with the accommodations to have such a meal. My wife and I were able to take a delightful walk in the nearby, very nearby, Washington Arboretum. We hope this VRBO will be vacant when we come back to Seattle . . . and we will!

Thank you so much for your awesome and informative review, we really appreciate it!
This is a lovely property overall. The location was good for getting to the arboretum and Seattle and the surrounding areas. The bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living space were well appointed and very clean. Things were labeled for ease when finding items. The host had night lights throughout the apartment and charging strips by the nightstands which were used and appreciated. The only downsides were the neighbors upstairs used loud voices at odd times of the night and morning. The only other negative was that the apartment is really dark. I expected it to be on the lower level (as per the listing), but didn't expect it to be like a basement. I am used to natural light in my home and so this was hard to get used to. I remedied this by heading out to the nice deck out front. I would recommend softer/warmer lights inside to mimic natural sunlight as the lights in the property were harsh and bright.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review and for your feedback.
Overall, this apartment is fantastic. -Super clean.-Well stocked with everything you need to 'live' comfortably. We made numerous meals in house and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. -We did a 5 night stay. It was nice that the hosts left access to a well stocked closet with cleaning supplies so we could keep up with cleaning during our stay. -Nice bathroom that includes a full washer and dryer. -Communication from the hosts was just enough to get details about our stay, but not enough to be annoying. -Neighborhood and street are quiet.-Nice little outside deck to sit and relax. -It is a basement apartment, so it doesn't get a lot of natural light.-The only con I would say is some noise from the neighboring rental and hearing the tenants upstairs walking around. You can hear casual conversation through the wall in the back bedroom. -We had a rental car, so we didn't have need for public transportation. There is a bus line a few blocks up on 24th, but it is a steep walk up the hill to 24th. Overall, however, we would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Seattle.

Thank you so much for your 5-star and very informative review, we really appreciate it! In addition to the small deck in the driveway, the whole private backyard is also available for our guests to use. There's a large round table with a sun umbrella, lots of seating, a recliner and a rocking love seat. Getting to the bus line via Galer St E is a very steep uphill climb, but because the 24th Ave E arterial slopes down so much toward UW, we recommend our guests walk to the bus via Boyer St which is a flat and lovely walk of only about two blocks from the house. We just had someone stay without a car and they let me know that it worked out really well!
This place was great. Easy check in. Cozy and relaxing. I would highly recommend it.

About the host
Hosted by Katya Coachman
Katya and Lee have been hosting our 1926 Laurelhurst house lower level apartment for 6 years. We have recently added two beautiful brand new lower level apartments in our 1947 family MCM house in Montlake/Arboretum. We love hosting and running this small family-owned business. Getting super positive feedback from our guests is very rewarding!
Why they chose this property
Montlake/Arboretum is a wonderful neighborhood of older historic single-family homes in the heart of Seattle. It's calm, quiet and green without the hustle-bustle you'll experience in more dense Seattle neighborhoods while being incredibly convenient and close to all that Seattle has to offer. We love that you can easily walk to the Arboretum and Interlaken Parks while being 5 minutes away from fun neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Madison Park and Madison Valley.
What makes this property unique
Our house is situated on a wonderful private cul-de-sac of Colonial Revival and Mid Century Modern homes just a block away from the famed UW Arboretum and a 10 minutes walk to the Japanese Garden. You'll enjoy staying in a completely private apartment in the lower level of our family home with a large shared private back yard/patio and a front entry deck. Arboretum offers multiple access points to Lake Washington and you're just 7 minutes drive from Madison Park Beach. The two bedrooms are in separate 'wings' of the apartment for quiet and privacy.
