About this property
Hanami Place - Kandos - Unwind & Relax
THE PROPERTY
Hanami Place is a spacious and unique 1930s home surrounded by beautiful established gardens. With lots of nooks and places to relax in or explore, the house is perfect for small or larger groups of people, or a family stay. The house is on a large corner block (2000sqm) and is very private from both the street and neighbours.
The four-bedroom house has three queen bedrooms all with unique styling. A fourth double bedroom has a view to the local mountain range. You will sleep well here, guests have commented the evenings are quiet and peaceful!
The large eat-in kitchen is adjacent to a north-facing sun-drenched sunroom - perfect for the colder months. The living room is spatially very generous, allowing ample space for, relaxing on the couch, hanging out by the fireplace or gathering around the dining table next a bay window looking over the front garden. For people with a yoga or other movement practice, the room can accommodate a few people at a time. The combustion wood fireplace brings atmosphere and warmth on colder days. The 1950s era-designed ‘pink’ bathroom has a separate shower and bath. A second toilet in the laundry is easily accessed from the kitchen.
Outside, the front and north side features a sun-filled verandah. A huge tiled east & west facing undercover back porch boasts a view of the back garden and views of the mountains - a perfect spot for outdoor eating or simply enjoying the garden and local birdlife . The large front and back yards have established gardens with figs, olives, lavender and many other plants including a large native garden.
Undercover parking is ample with 2 large double carports. The second carport is essentially not needed and could be used as space to create or for other sun-protected outdoor activities.
GUEST ACCESS
A welcome pack will be shared when you have booked by the host. An easy to access lockbox allows self checkin. The host (Robyn) is contactable via phone if you have any questions.
LOCAL AREA
Kandos is an unassuming town with a rich history. Visit the local museum to find out more about the Cement industry that was the reason for the town to be founded and enjoy contemporary art at the WAYOUT Artspace located on the main street, close to the IGA which has a great variety of food options.
Nearby you can visit De Beaurepaire Winery, which is located on the limestone needed for the locally grown traditional french wine varieties on offer. Mudgee (famous for it's many wineries) is a 45min drive, and Bathurst and Lithgow just over one hour away.
Kandos is a perfect location for lovers of nature and wildlife - Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp is a 30min drive where you can immerse yourself in nature, enjoy bushwalking, or swim in the cool waters. The local area boasts over 107 bird species and keep your eye out for echidnas, kangaroos, and other animals. Other local bush walks are aplenty, and the bike path to Historic Rylstone offers really enjoyable ride for a coffee or lunch in Kandos' 'sister' town.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
We pay our deepest respects to the Wiradjuri people, the traditional custodians of the land, and the local Dabee people, the custodians of the land on which Kandos is located. We acknowledge past and present elders, first nations communities and their connections to land, water, and animals, and we recognise the embodied knowledge learned over many generations of our first nations peoples.
