Disliked: Listing accuracy
We spent two nights at this cottage with my partner and daughters. While the view and deck were lovely and we enjoyed the quiet surroundings, the experience fell far short of expectations — especially at 900/night.Booking was confusing. I recall seeing rates around 400/night (I even have a screenshot showing 265/night for similar dates). I mistakenly assumed the 900 total was for both nights. When I asked the host, I was told, “Did you screenshot the quote?”—which felt dismissive. Seeing the full charge on my credit card was frustrating. The listing also didn’t reflect key issues:•No swimmable lake access — shoreline was rocky and weedy.•Fridge didn’t keep food cold.•No central air; only bedroom units. Main areas were uncomfortably hot.•Small living space; we used the kitchen table for all gathering.•The oddest (and most unpleasant) part: the toilet vent stack was located in the living room, and the odor was noticeable. We made great memories together, but for this price point, we expected much better. Would not stay here again.
