The Foreman’s Cabin became the nightly gathering place in front of the wood burning fireplace. The views are far better than advertised.A quick drive to Hepburn for “Museum of Wheat”. Wonderful for Man from the Coast that had never been to the Canadian Prairie
Jarvis is awesome and the Foreman's cabin was just what our family needed. We loved the whole location. Super beautiful. Our little guy loved that he could pet the cows. :)
We actually could not follow through with our booking. But I did see the space before. So fun and beautiful! And the owner as well as Vrbo were so good to us! They helped us out when something out of our control prevented us from coming! Thanks much!
It was a wonderful, clean, beautiful and quiet place to stay! The wood burning stove is what drew us and it did not disappoint! Jarvis was quick to respond when we had any questions. Would definitely go back!
Jarvis is an incredible host and his love and passion for the blue skies ranch shows. Beautiful trails and views. Perfect for a relaxing get away as well. The fire place was amazing. Can’t wait to return! Would be amazing venue for events, retreats, weddings and more!
From check in to check out we felt like we were family. Jarvis gave us a tour of the entire property, shared the history, told us about his future plans and made us feel welcome. We were the only people staying on the property during the August long weekend, with the exception of 1 night but it was so quiet and peaceful. We had plenty of space to walk the property, escape the city, view wildlife and enjoy exactly what we had hoped to, relaxing peace on our anniversary. The property is adorned with enough modern convenience to make it comfortable but not too much to feel gimmicky, or ruin the rustic allure. Jarvis gifted us fresh eggs and berries and checked in each day in passing to make sure we were happy and to see if we needed anything. Would recommend any piece of this property and will return again.
We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return. The hospitality of the host was exceptional. Forman’s cabin was perfect for our getaway; clean, warm, and with all amenities we needed. We snowshoed the trails and had a big fire in the Saloon for hotdog roast with the grandkids, who stopped by for a visit. Thank you so much Jarvis, we will connect again soon.
The property was clean and had everything we needed. It's front windows look out over the North Saskatchewan River valley, and sunsets and sunrises are amazing. If you're coming from the south, and it's been wet, take HWY 12 up to the Hepburn turnoff and then take the grids from there, rather than coming up NW on the 16 and using the grids to come north. It takes a bit longer, but it's worth it.
If you want peaceful, comfortable with the most beautiful sunsets you could hope for… This is the place for you. From check in to check out, Jarvis was a joy to work with and extremely helpful. He even started the fire in the fireplace when we showed up and had a Christmas tree waiting to help celebrate the Christmas holidays. Thank you so much for everything Jarvis! You’re the best!
Cozy cabin with beautiful heritage details (glass door knobs, stained glass, etc.) that was the perfect escape from the city. Jarvis had the fire going when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. The views from the property are spectacular through the large windows facing the river. We saw many deer, sunsets, birds, native prairie landscape. So peaceful. New appliances (dishwasher too!) were handy to cook with and the oven has an air fryer setting. Kitchen is well equipped (with a crock pot even). Bring your own ice cube trays to make ice for drinks. The trails around the property are lovely and our dog had a wonderful time exploring. The cabin was spotless and even the linens had that freshly washed ‘Tide’ smell. A gem of a place that we will be back to visit again. The only things that could be listed as potential cons for the place are the sound of the water pump in one of the bedrooms. It was very loud (especially if you flushed the toilet in the middle of the night) but the hot water and good pressure made up for it. Also, wifi could be spotty because of the satellite and weather but we didn’t mind as we were going there to unplug and sit by the fire anyway.
It didn't feel like a hotel or a rental even. It felt like you were staying in someone's home. It was warm, comfortable, had all the amenities and being right next to the barn with the fire pit was great. The view of the ravine and the location of where the cabin is was great. We will definitely be staying again!
