About this property
Newly Renovated Tranquil Waterfront Cottage in Muskoka | Fast WiFi | Sleeps 8
Welcome to the Heron’s Landing. This newly renovated family retreat sits on the shore of the Severn River, close to Sparrow Lake in beautiful Muskoka.
Spend time sunning and swimming off the new dock or relax in the shade of the screened gazebo. Enjoy warm summer nights eating dinner on the new wrap-around waterfront deck or sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and stargazing. For the adventure lovers, get out on the water in the kayaks or canoe (life jackets and paddles are provided), fish off the dock, or take a stroll along the quiet cottage road.
This cottage consists of both a main cottage and bunkie - both are newly renovated and have water views. The main cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a large island that seats 6. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and a gas fireplace perfect for cozying up to watch a movie or the big game. The 2 bedrooms in the main cottage each have a new and comfortable double bed and share a larger washroom. The Bunkhouse, located just across the big deck, has a lounge area on the main level perfect for a kids hangout zone with a smart TV and full washroom. There are 2 double beds upstairs in the loft. The entire cottage has high speed WiFi (Starlink) perfect for teleworking or staying connected.
The cottage is a quick drive to nearby towns for groceries and entertainment. 15 minutes to downtown Gravenhurst, 30 minutes to Orillia and Bracebridge, and 35 minutes to Casino Rama. Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve, local artists, summer markets, musical events, as well as craft breweries and restaurants are also nearby.
There is ample parking for 4 cars.
You can bring your boat if you'd like. There are two boat launches nearby and there is room for boat parking alongside the dock.
Additional information about the cottage:
The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances - refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and beverage fridge plus all of the dishes and cookware needed for your stay. Cook indoors or barbecue on the deck. A coffee maker, coffee, kettle, and tea are provided. A selection of board games, 2 smart TVs, and books are available. Bed linens and blankets for the bedrooms, and bath, beach, and kitchen towels are provided.

About the host
Hosted by Joanne Simpson

We are semi-retired, longtime cottage lovers from Caledon and love sharing the cottage with friends and family.
Why they chose this property
From the moment we began driving down the private cottage road we felt the tranquility of Muskoka. Passing forested areas, the Canadian shield, wetlands and eventually the cottage view of our bay on the Severn River we could hear and see the natural beauty of cottage life. Visitors watch for signs along the way for the highlights. Drive slowly and you may be surprised to see the herons on their nest or a beaver paddling around at dusk.
What makes this property unique
The open living spaces outside and inside make family gatherings so special for us. We love sitting on the dock and watching the boats go by in the distance. Having areas to be together or quiet places to sit and relax on the water or the deck allows you to feel a sense of peace.
