About this property

Magnificent Pacific Coast Villa

Casa Cielos Azules was completed in the summer of 2006. It is a large Spanish-style villa perched on a bluff only 150 meters from the Pacific Ocean. Recently two cottages a pool and out door kitchen and bar were added.

The house has a second floor master bedroom and bath with a wrap around deck commanding 180 degree view of the Pacific. Two bedrooms on the main floor have their own full baths. The grand room is surrounded by open-air porches enabling outside dining and relaxation. The cottages are part of a pool complex with out door kitchen and bar.

In total there are five bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. Four have queen beds and the master suite has a king bed. Inflatable beds are available for children if desired.

The custom built kitchen contains all the conveniences of stainless steel appliances, under mount sink and dual fuel cooking. There is laundry room equipped with washer and dryer. The house is situated and designed to capture the natural breezes and all rooms as well as the outside porches and decks are equipped with ceiling fans to enhance the sea breezes, The two main floor bedrooms and the cottages have optional air conditioning. Housekeeper and caretaker are on premises for house cleaning and laundry.(The house keeper may do cooking upon arrangements with guests)

Casa Cielos Azules is surrounded by a grand yard in a quiet, undeveloped and unspoiled Pacific beach community. Its relative seclusion guarantees stretches of almost deserted beaches suitable for surfing, body surfing, kayaking, shelling, fishing, sunbathing and long walks.

Horseback riding, deep sea and freshwater fishing are available nearby. Longer day trips will allow you breathtaking mountain views and ziplines, rain forests, caving, white water rafting, mountain adventures and thermal spring swimming. There is an assortment of small local restaurant choices nearby offering a variety of dining and entertainment options: from simple open-fired Tico meals to multi-course European feasts.

Small convenience stores in Junquillal and Paraiso can satisfy most needs. Complete grocery stores in Santa Cruz--30 minutes away.

The home is meticulously maintained. It is an absolute pleasure from the porch to the pool. The location is a bit far out , but once there lovely. There is a beach a walk away perfect for a walk or fishing ! Enjoy 🌴

Unbelievably beautiful and amazing location!!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The house is huge and beautiful, and we could sit on the upstairs porch for hours on end, listening to the waves crash and enjoying panoramic views of the Pacific. The beach is a 5-10 min walk from your door, and you'll probably be the only people there! Finally, the world's coolest and happiest German Shepherd ("Raúl") will keep you safe and play fetch on the beach! If you're thinking of staying here, do it!!

Wonderful experience

This house and property is really quite amazing. Beautiful and well kept. The beach, only a short distance away, has big waves interesting tide pools and great sunsets, although swimming may not be safe due to rip currents. The dog who lives here is very friendly and we enjoyed his company. The monkeys in the trees, early morning, were fun to see. And, all kinds of birds, lizards, toads, etc. The two caretakers and their son were very nice and did a great job. The nearby sodas were reasonably priced and we enjoyed the food. Grocery stores are fairly close also. The only negatives are the lack of AC in the master bedroom (although the fans help a lot) and the proximity to other CR attractions (allow at least an hour or two each way depending on what you want to do).

Incredible Experience!

Burt’s home is an absolute gem. The property is large and tucked away yet close enough to the beach to make it a perfect choice for an easy family vacation. A car is needed in order to get to shops and restaurants. The pool area, and all amenities were in great shape, and the home was kept so clean and organised by Xiomara. We felt safe, content and very relaxed, and we loved spending time with his dog Fredo. We will return soon hopefully! Thank you Burt!

Great vacation house! Quite and relaxing!

This was the 2nd time in CR for myself and my husband. This time, we traveled with another couple and a single friend. We chose the house for a few reasons, mainly because of the proximity to the beach; it had a pool; and a dog! Fredo is a very friendly dog and he was great to play with. The upstairs master bedroom has a large balcony and is in the treetops. We had Howler Monkeys stop by a few times and were very close to us on balcony! We could also see the parrots in the morning and evening. Our friends used the downstairs bedrooms and they each had their own bathrooms. There are 2 casitas down by the pool and outdoor kitchen. We didn't use the casitas but we used the BBQ at the outdoor kitchen most nights. The pool was very clean. The housekeeper was a wonderful addition. She was very pleasant and did a great job. We used an English/Spanish translator app on our phones to communicate and that worked out pretty good. The owner Burt was very accommodating and friendly. He gave us some good tips & info before we got there.

Awesome!

This is a beautiful home. We were in Playa Junquillal for my son’s wedding, and this home was absolutely perfect for us. We were a group of 4 couples, all in our golden years, and the arrangements with each couple having their own bathroom was great. The kitchen is terrific. We had absolutely everything we needed. Awesome appliances and “extras” like a Ninja blender made this a great fit for our group, as we are self proclaimed “foodies” who love to cook. The home, grounds and the pool are also impeccably maintained. Loved the outdoor kitchen at the pool. Beach is a short walk away, and we enjoyed many walks, swimming and the sunsets are incredible! Make sure to go to Guacamaya Lodge for dinner and the restaurant at the Playa Junquillal Eco Resort. Both owners of these establishments are super! I also recommend a visit to Playa Blanca for great snorkeling. Also, check in to see if you can be a part of the turtle release. Amazing experience that my son, his lovely bride and daughter were fortunate enough to able to participate in. Xiomara and her husband were lovely. They helped us out with many of our questions and kept the home incredibly clean! We are by no means fluent in Spanish, but we used google translate and were able to communicate effectively with Xiomara. Again, she was truly lovely and we appreciated her so much! Relaxing stay, great food

Just got back from Costa Rica and staying at playa Junquillal was the best part of the trip. Burton's place. The pool area and Castas with the outdoor kitchen and grill was a super plus to the stay. The house and land was huge. The maid cleaned every day and even did our laundry. This place has everything you need from all cooking items to beach gear to the cutest German Shepherd puppy naked Fredo to make you feel at home. He was fun to take on walks to the beach. We saw a troop of howler monkeys 3 times on the short stroll to the nearly private beach. The house and area was very safe. The restaurants in the area serve wonderful food even though many look like shacks. Don't let looks deceive you. Lots of dirt roads in the area. A car will do, but opt for the small SUV if you can. We liked Jalapenos for lunch and Loquillo was good also. The best was a recommendation from Burton to hire Garret who used to run a restaurant in the area, but now does catering for vacationers. We had the taste of Pacific 3 course meal and it was the best meal we have had in a long time. All prepared fresh and served by the pool. Garret and his wife cooked the whole meal and cleaned up without any assistance. We were really able to just relax by the pool. Worth every penny. Stay here and have Burton hook you up with Garret

Best Location

This place is the perfect place to unwind and unplug from it all!! Quiet surroundings away from crowds, friendly locals and great beaches, what else do you need. If you have to check back in the WiFi is more than capable to get work done. All in all, 10’s from me. This place is amazing!

My wife, daughter and I had our dream vacation at this wonderfull property. The house far exceeded our expectations and the setting is spectacular. Private beaches, a great variety of restaurants and the Costa Rica Lifestyle resulted a relaxed fun filled get-away. The house is exquistely designed to take advatage of the sea breezes while provided awesome views and a background of crashing surf. If you are looking for shopping and nightlife you might look elsewhere, but if you want a true Costa Rica vacation this is the place. Thanks for sharing your home.
