This was a perfect getaway spot. I am a picky traveler and this hit all the notes - great space layout, scenic views, own dock right on the water, close to hiking trails, books and games. The quality of each feature was very high. The host was also super communicative and helpful.
Located on a nice, quiet bay for relaxing & watching the sunrise or swimming off the dock. Kayaks & a canoe available, & plenty of great hiking trails in & around the beautiful Algonquin Park. Plenty to do.House was extremely clean & beds were very comfortable. Host communication was excellent prior to check in & during our stay when needed. Great place to stay.
This property was everything we’d hoped for and more. Beautiful, spacious, clean, well-equipped, and in a truly picturesque location! We hope to return again soon!
As a discerning traveler, it's rare for a rental property to exceed my expectations-but this cottage did just that. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this lake house was something special. The location is perfect: peaceful and serene, nestled on a calm bay ideal for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The cottage itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and tastefully decorated, from kitchen utensils to cozy linens. The nearby general store/gas station and LCBO made things even more convenient. This was not just a stay, it was a genuinely relaxing experience. I can recommend this property without hesitation, and I'm already planning to come back. A true gem.
The upside- The location is very pretty and the house is very well equipped. The host is very responsive and friendly and the house and property were all well kept. The beds are very comfortable and the towels are lovely and soft. We very much enjoyed using the sauna and enjoying the autumn colours reflected on the calm lake. The downside is the road is super high traffic with constant construction vehicles that are both visible and loud from the dock so it really takes away from the ambiance. It was also dangerous to walk our dogs as most of those trucks are speeding. We ended up crossing the street and walking them on the private road there. We spoke with one of the cottagers there and they said it’s been an ongoing problem. Even got flashed high beams just running on the road by myself without the dogs. There is no shoulder and the road is windy so visibility around corners is tricky. The other thing to note is that the main bedroom is open to below which is shown in the listing photos but the bathroom is open above as well as the shower so noise and smell carry if that’s a concern. Light of course comes in so you’re up with the sun unless you bring a sleep mask. The bathroom (toilet) is oriented in that upper bathroom in its own water closet and my husband couldn’t use it (6’ tall) without his knees hitting the door. Not a great layout for privacy. Despite the downside we had a wonderful stay but would not re-book based on the road alone.
