We have stayed at this lovely property before. It is very quiet, clean and comfortable. I remembered from our last stay that there is no WiFi or cell phone reception so I brought along Yahtzee as a fun distraction! I felt totally relaxed and we both enjoyed the porch more than anything else!
Lovely home. The location is quiet and secluded with an expansive yard. Nice front porch and fire pit area. The house is cute and quaint and well maintained. The host was very responsive. Perfect getaway from the city.
We had a great long weekend here with our dog Reggie, who loved running around the enormous yard. It’s super close to the entrance to Shenandoah yet feels very quiet and private. Everything you need for a good hiking weekend.
We loved the cabin. It was quiet, clean, and kinda reminded me of the feeling you get when you go to your grandparents house. It was very cozy. We loved sitting on the front porch. You feel really far away from things but you aren’t. We would definitely stay again!!
This cabin was the perfect place to stay for our mother-daughter trip to Shenandoah National Park. Be sure to keep the owner's directions to the cabin handy, though, as the GPS will likely take you to the wrong location. Having no Wi-Fi or cell service at the cabin was a welcome gift — it allowed for lots of conversation and time to do a 500-piece puzzle together!
Lovely cabin with lots of open space for the kiddos and dog to run and play. Close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns. Property was clean and comfortable. Guest bed was not comfortable and sags/slopes in the middle. Master bed very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.
This property is our favorite romantic getaway when visiting Shenandoah National Park and the Shenandoah River Valley in Virginia. Tucked away at the foothills of the Thornton Gap entrance to Skyline Drive, this is the perfect place to unwind and feel surrounded by nature. This cabin offers all the amenities of home with a full kitchen, spacious livingroom, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The wrap-a-round porch and fire pit outside on 10 acres of land add to the enjoyment of your stay here in Lurray, VA

We had an excellent stay at the Fox Den Cabin. The property is exactly as described. The host was great and answered all my questions before arrival. The location is ideal to visit the Shenandoah National Park and Luray area. Highly recommend. Beware that we had no service from our cell phone providers and there is now wifi on site, but the property is equipped with a landline phone.
Peaceful cabin located close to Shenandoah National Park
This is a comfortable cabin that has everything you need. It is set back off the road and is very peaceful and quiet. The porch is so inviting for morning coffee or a late afternoon beverage. If you are exploring Shenandoah National Park, this cabin is SO close. There is a shortcut to Hwy 211 via a gravel access road (Jewell Hollow Access Road) that saves a lot of time in getting to the park. You will find it on Google Maps. Be aware that the listing is correct....there is NO cell coverage or wifi. But there is cable tv. You will find an enjoyable stay at this cabin.
No words can describe how much we enjoyed our stay. Even when there was a downpour which pushed back our plans for day 1, we didn't mind staying in and cozying up to a movie. We were in drivable distance to all the places we planned to go, so location was super convenient. Sure, cell service is hardly there even with 5G devices, but we didn't mind it/ rarely notices as we were more interested in the scenic views around the area. Luckily for us, the second day/night of our stay was clear from rain, for at night allowing us to see the stars on the porch while unwinding on the wood rocking chairs and swing with a warm mug of tea and hot chocolate. The dogs loved relaxing on the porch and exploring the yard. We are definitely planning on coming back to the area sometime and if this property becomes available the next time, we will be sure to book it again!
Beautiful property, big yard, really nice space. Quick drive to the Thornton Gap park entrance. This was a great place to rest and relax after exploring the park all day. Nice kitchen, with everything you need. We had no cell reception and there is no WiFi (fine with us), so we relied on board games & cable TV for entertainment, which was plenty.
This place was ideal for a quiet weekend getaway. The cabin was clean, well furnished and very cozy. We saw wild turkeys and deer in the front yard and enjoyed sitting out on the large porch. Will definitely stay here again. The only drawback was there wasn’t any WiFi to search for places to go or to keep in touch with family back home.
Absolutely print or write down instructions for directions and entry. You will NOT have mobile coverage when you get close. If you have this in your hands, you will have no problems.
Otherwise, you will love the place, the property and the area.

Fox Den Cabin
Nice property near Shennandoah Park to explore the Park.
Good, comfortable cabin. Beautiful location! Did not have cell phone signal or Wi-Fi, so it's great if you want to have no interruptions from the modern world. Great location to visit the Luray Caverns, Shenandoah NP and the Skyline Drive.
The owner is close by so if you have a problem (like I did, of my own making) he's close enough to take care of it.
Would go back again!
The cabin was exactly as stated. It was quiet, cozy, comfortable and peaceful in a beautiful setting! Convient to both Luray and Skyline Drive. It was exactly what we were looking for. Hope to visit again!

Why they chose this property
What makes this property unique
The cabin has a rustic feel, but is just modern enough to provide you with all the amenities of home. The property is bordered by rock walls dating back to the late 1800's. Years of hard work was put into rebuilding the walls as you see them today.
