About this property
Glenlyon Church - Award Winning Church Conversion
Set on an acre in the quaint, tree-lined hamlet of Glenlyon — just ten minutes from Daylesford — Glenlyon Church is a soulful escape surrounded by towering old trees, native wildlife, and views across a small vineyard to Mount Alexander.
The original church, lovingly restored, welcomes you with soaring high ceilings, striking suspended fireplace, and breathtaking windows that fill the generous lounge and dining space with natural light. Step into the contemporary extension to find a sun-drenched cook’s kitchen with high-end appliances, an office nook, and rustic touches that echo the property’s heritage.
Accommodating up to four guests, there are two spacious king bedrooms — each with its own ensuite (one featuring a separate bath) — perfect for couples, friends or family retreats. Both king beds can be split into two king singles if needed, offering flexible sleeping arrangements.
Outside, unwind on the expansive back deck as kangaroos graze among the vines, gather around the fire pit under the stars, or simply soak up the peace of your private acre.
Beyond the gates, Glenlyon invites you to slow down and explore: from the mineral springs reserve and leafy creekside walks, to the charming Glenlyon General Store café and the nearby Attwood Wines cellar door. Discover the area’s many small, organic and family producers — Glenlyon’s rich volcanic soil yields some of the region’s finest vegetables and local fare, perfect to stock up on for slow-cooked meals shared back at the church.
Glenlyon Church is a truly unique sanctuary — a place to disconnect from the everyday, reconnect with nature and loved ones, and leave feeling relaxed, restored and deeply grounded.
Kindly Note: The central fireplace is suspended at height and becomes hot during use posing a potential safety hazard for children. For this reason, this property is not recommended for children. Please carefully review the property images and feel free to contact us with any queries.
Bedding: Both King Sized beds can be split into 2 x King Singles upon request. We will ocntact you after booking to confirm your preferred bedding configuration.
Payment: Credit card fees apply when paying by Visa, Mastercard or Amex. Please contact us to confirm the current fees.
