Slap bang in the centre of the Wombat State Forest, Martin on Main, a self-contained private cottage always ready on short notice and perfect for anything and everything; that romantic weekend, girl’s getaway, family outdoors adventure or a midweek escape.
The Space:
Martin on Main is an original 1930's cottage, rustic on the outside and spacious inside.
Always ready to book on short notice.
Perfect for couples, families, girls weekends.

Martin on Main has been insulated and lovingly restored, lined with timber and boasts a Coonara fire and split system.

You will be pleasantly surprised by the comfy modern amenities and mix of curios.

Sleeping arrangements include a romantic and comfy iron bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second bedroom.

Quality fine linen, towels, hot water bottles and cosy doona’s provided.

The compact refurbished bathroom suits all ages and features a deep shower over-bath and a compact washing machine to accommodate longer and perhaps more adventurous stays.

Sit back and unwind and watch the world go by whilst sitting on the deep verandas in the afternoon sun.

Walk to the Mineral springs (1.0 Km) Garden of St Erth (3.5 Km) along Back Creek trail.

A short 10 minute drive to Trentham or 25 minutes to Daylesford for a spot of exploring.

The numerous walking tracks within the Lerderderg State Park cater for bush walking and mountain biking enthusiasts, opportunities abound for every skill and energy level.

For the horticulturists the district offers great garden and plant nursery searching prospects, with the Garden of St Erth (Diggers Club) and Blackwood Ridge nearby.

Great dining is a short stroll from your doorstep, search Hepburn or Macedon Ranges localities.

MoM was a wonderful winter escape! Cozy and warm, very welcoming. Check in was a breeze, the welcome guide was very informative. The beds were perfect for a long winters night. And sitting by the window reading while local wild life hopped by to say hello was the perfect way to spend a frosty afternoon. The town is small and charming, we ate at the local pub and picked up morning coffees just across the street. Plus, just a very short drive to Trentham and its Farmer's Market. 5/5.

Lovely peaceful stay - everything we needed

Quiet area with lots to do close by - we spent time in Daylesford and at Hanging Rock - did lots of walking. House was perfect for us and owner was great to deal with.

Perfect R&R

Just had my second stay in the last few months at the cottage. Needed some R&R time and this is the perfect place. Quiet, peaceful and cozy. Everything you need for a solo ‘away from the city hustle and bustle’ few days. I’m sure I’ll be back yet again. Highly recommend.

Girls weekend

Had a lovely stay at Martin on Main with some girlfriends. The minors cottage was cute and cosy and perfect for a weekend away. The fire and heating worked well and everything was as per the listing. Lesley was easy to contact and very helpful at answering my questions and providing recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed a walk and visit to The Garden of St Erth and a beautiful meal at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Trentham. The local pub is just up the road and the locals are very friendly. Thanks Lesley for sharing your property with us.

Couldn’t be happier!

A friend and I recently had a girls 4 day weekend in the cottage. We had just the best time! The cottage is cosy (definitely not large), cute, clean, tidy and just perfect! The ambience with the fireplace was really lovely. Plenty of firewood provided. Great to also have a split system to heat the space while the fire got itself going. And the air heater provided for the bathroom space was a great, and much appreciated, surprise! Lesley (host) was very quick to respond to an enquire we had while there. All in all just a wonderful stay in a very cosy and cute cottage that we will definitely visit again. Absolutely highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Cosy & Warm, a very cute cottage in a beautiful bushland setting and only a short stroll to cafes and shops. Everything was provided for us and was lovely and clean.

Perfect Getaway

This was such a great little cottage, and so relaxing, that I decided to double the length of my initial booking. The actual booking process was not easy, possibly due to some sort of weak connection between the Australian booking system through Stayz and the NZ system through Bookabatch. Lesley was brilliant as a host and sorted it directly with the booking agent. It proved to be the perfect antidote to my normally crazy life here in NZ!! I shall certainly be returning and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thank you.
