4 day Weekend Stay in Sept
Was in town for an event and wanted to stay at a house so we could cook, sleep well, and be close to the Hampton Coliseum. The owner was polite and responded in a timely manner when I texted him throughout the weekend, mainly to keep resetting the thermostat which is programmed for 78-80 degrees. The house was not as satisfactory. The upstairs air conditioning did not work at all, so sleeping in 80 degrees made it very uncomfortable. There was one towel, and I had to find another one mixed in with a dryer full of soccer uniforms and sheets.Broken cabinets, leftover food rotting in the fridge. There was a plastic grocery bag of dirty utensils in the top shelf inside the dishwasher. No silverware, a couple plates, no glasses, no coffee filters, a couple pots but cooking is still tough because there aren’t utensils. No bikes as advertised. Theres a chest freezer in the kitchen that is warm and stinky. The curtains are stapled to the wall and many things are broken. The community it’s in is nice, and we enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood, but I would not stay here again. The owner was aware of the problems with the air conditioning but nothing was done during our stay.
