Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Municipality of Chester our cottage is walking distance to the Chester connection trail and just a short distance to Sensea spa, golfing, beaches and downtown Chester plus so much more that the South Shore has to offer. Take the Oak Island treasure tour, relax on a hammock or stay cozied up inside with a book next to the woodstove and then fall asleep to the sound of the river. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, family vacation or connecting with friends you will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Due to the tenancy laws in Nova Scotia maximum stay should not exceed 28 nights.

The cottage was beautiful-just as described, very well equipped and very clean. The trickling stream in the back is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a busy touristy day:) The location itself is perfect as a home base for visiting many tourist attractions on this side of the island. The owner clearly takes great care and consideration to make sure the cottage is a great stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à la résidence de Middle River!Nous étions à Chester pour participer à la célèbre Chester Race Week en août 2026, et cette charmante petite maison bleue s'est avérée absolument parfaite pour notre équipage. Avec ses trois chambres et son divan, elle offrait tout l'espace dont nous avions besoin pour notre groupe.Le site est magnifique et très paisible. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la petite rivière qui coule derrière la propriété. C'est l'endroit idéal pour se tremper les pieds ou même se rafraîchir après une longue journée sur l'eau. Tout est aménagé pour le confort et le plaisir des visiteurs : un joli patio, un barbecue, un espace pour faire un feu, un grand stationnement et, surtout, une tranquillité exceptionnelle.La cuisine est bien équipée et fonctionnelle, et la maison était impeccablement propre à notre arrivée. Avant notre séjour, nous avons échangé avec Rebecca afin d'obtenir quelques renseignements supplémentaires. Elle a répondu presque instantanément à chacune de nos questions avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de professionnalisme. Son service est tout simplement excellent.Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de notre passage et, si nous revenons à Chester un jour, il ne fait aucun doute que nous choisirons à nouveau cette magnifique petite maison bleue.Merci Rebecca pour votre accueil et votre hospitalité!

This is a wonder, cute, immaculate 3 bedroom house with the beautiful Middle River in its backyard. Our lab loved it! It has everything you'll need for a stay, with a well stock kitchen. The beds are comfy and cozy. Would love to stay there again as it was central to Chester, Peggy's Cove and Lunenberg, and not too far to Halifax.

Why they chose this property

The South Shore has tonnes of beaches, nature trails and the town of Chester is absolutely charming with all the amenities close by. Walking distance to the Haughn Estate trails which lead to the Chester Connection trails is perfect for walking the dog, jogging or biking. There are fabulous restaurants close by with views of Chester Basin or Mahone bay and offer something for everyone. Sensea spa, Oak Island, Chester Golfcourse, Hubbards Beach are just a short drive away.

What makes this property unique

Back a short distance from from the paved road makes the cottage easily accessible all year round while being next to middle river gives the cottagy vibes we love. The cottage has cute clutter free esthetic with everything you'd need such as BBQ, espresso machine, woodstove and fire pit to enjoy your vacation. It's a steep climb to the river and grassy knoll but if you're feeling up for it it's well worth it and my absolute favorite place to read a book in the hammock.
