About this property

Lovingly restored 19th-century Bluestack Mountain farm-cottage hideaway

This early 19th century farmhouse cottage nestled in the Bluestack mountains is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and within a stones throw from the Eanymore River.

This cottage is set in an ideal location to relax, unwind and take in all the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Guests can enjoy river walks, fishing and hill walking within a short stroll from the cottage.

Although newly renovated, guests could be forgiven for feeling they were at home in 1900’s rural Ireland.

The property is situated next to the Bluestack Mountains, an area well known and loved for its hill walking trails. Lots of information is available about the trails on the IrishTrails website. Keen hikers and hill walkers can check out the “Bluestack Way”.

The rear of the property overlooks the Eanymore River. Guests are advised salmon fishing is seasonal and may require a permit. Information is available on the Fishing in Ireland website.

Donegal Town is just 5km away, home of the famous Donegal Castle, built in 1474.
There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from in town. I am more than happy to help point you in the right direction depending on your preferences.

This location allows guests to explore the Wild Atlantic Way with little ease. There are many, many beaches to explore including Rossowlagh beach famous for its surf breaks.

Slieve League (WAW) is approximately a 1hr drive with so much to take in on your journey. Be sure sure to check out the Glengesh Pass!

If golfing is your thing, the stunning Murvagh Golf Course with panoramic views over Donegal bay is a 20km drive from the cottage.

I really loved the property. Beautiful location and a great experience of the countryside and what it has to offer. Close to town so that was very convenient. The house was spacious enough for 3 adults and 2 children. There was some wonderful sheep staying in the pen nearby for the kids to chat with which was lovely. I would recommend a stay here to anyone it was a great home base for us as we travelled around the countryside. The owners mother who lives down the road came by and dropped off a bag of toys for our daughter after she saw us looking at the sheep which was a very kind thing to do and just made us feel even more welcomed than we already had.
