A super cute wee family two-bedroom home, situated in a quiet residential area & perfect for exploring the Tasman region.
The front bedroom has a queen bed with view of the front garden. The back bedroom has two single beds and french doors which open out onto the back porch.
Lego, matchbox cars, cards, games & kids books available to keep your wee ones entertained. There is a PS2 with a couple of games too.
This 1950s house is slowly being brought into the 21st century but does have some crazy carpet & a built in cabinet in the lounge, some questionable colour choices, a shower over the bath without high pressure water flow and no wifi.
It does have a dishwasher & heat pump though!! Note: there is a fire which is not certified so can't be used.
There is a fully fenced garden space out the front, perfect for your children to run about or your four legged friends. Please enquire if you wish to bring pets.
There is room for a vehicle to park round the back and plenty of free street parking. It is a shared driveway so please keep clear.
Our neighbours behind us are a beautiful old couple so definitely no loud music or parties. Please be respectful.
We are in walking distance to Richmond schools, the aquatic centre (wave rave on a Friday night for the kids), the Richmond town centre including supermarkets, shops, mall & heaps of mountain biking trails up on the hills behind. The A&P showgrounds & speedway is a short drive away too.
The airport is 10 minutes by car, Tahuna, the beach & Nelson just a wee bit further. In the other direction, Rabbit Island, Mapua, Motueka & the Abel Tasman is all at your reach. Such a perfect spot to base yourself & go exploring.

Property was as described, comfortable and good value. The only issue - I didn't need to bring my dog in the end but had originally chosen the property on the basis that it was pet friendly. On arrival I noticed that dogs had to remain outside. My dog would have howled all night and disturbed the neighbourhood if left outside and it would have been impossible - so that needs to be made clear when it says it is pet friendly :)

Hi Phillippa
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay & thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Yes I would have allowed your pet to stay inside. So sorry - I have just noticed that I had not updated the welcome pack inside & this would have been confusing re whether they were allowed or not.
All sorted now!
Hopefully we might see you both next time ☺️
About the host

A little about me! Im a mum of two boys and have come to live in Richmond so the boys can attend school. Our home is in the Marlborough Sounds where there is no secondary school so this was the option that suited us best! We live here during the week & then head for home on the weekends & school holidays.
As our little spot is free when we are not here - thought we would share it with you.
Why they chose this property
Richmond is such a cool spot with the schools so close and everything right on your doorstep. The mountain bike tracks are just up the back and also lots of cycleways which you can explore. A short walk away to the shops & the aquatic centre with the A&P showgrounds & speedway just down the road too. So many cool wee cafes, beaches and places you can head on day trips.
What makes this property unique
An oldie but a goodie!! We purchased the property a couple of months ago so will gradually do up as finances allow. Its quirky as still has lots of 1970s charm.....and although a two bedroom with a cabin, feels a lot bigger especially with a garden which is harder to find with town sections these days.
