Historic1860's cottage, restored and refurbished with a mixture of the past and the present. Located in Historic South Street, a vibrant community bound by the shared love of days gone by. Relax and immerse yourself in our history. www.historicsouthstreet.co.nz.
Verandah on street front, private sunny courtyard, full kitchen, open plan dining/lounge. Close to restaurants, markets, museum and galleries.
The base rate is for 2 people. Extra adults are charged at $50 per night and children at $25 per night. Please note that Bookabach don’t currently have the ability to automatically differentiate adult vs children pricing as hosts would prefer, but we can update this once the booking is in place. They are working on making discount available for children.

Dillion cottage

Amazing cottage, lots of history central to town. The Catheral was cool listening to the bells ringing. The cottage was well stocked warm, inviting and welcoming , thank you will definitely stay again.

Amazing character home in great location

We loved having our own space in a great location at a good price ! The home had great historical touches but still with modern amenities. We had stayed near the water before but liked being right in town near more things to do and lots of walking. The neighbourhood was quiet and friendly and the host was very helpful and quick to reply to any questions.

Loved the property, unbeatable location. Very nice standard of maintenance, obviously a labour of love to restore a historic property. What made it better was the host's friendly and helpful communication when i missed the check in message, and the nice extras they left to make our stay a little better. Highly recommended.

Spacious, good location with friendly host and friend living in the street. Comfortable bed and bonus to have spare room for bags and clothes. Negative: Towels smelt stale, some of the pans needed washing before use. Kitchen cupboards needed a good clean

Exceptional inner city cottage

Dillon Cottage is unique, and ideal for visitors to Nelson who want self-catering in a central location. It was very comfortable, quiet and had a lovely sun drenched garden. It had plenty of space for 4 people (plus a small dog). It exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it. Thanks to our host also for the many thoughtful touches like locally sourced jam and freshcut flowers.

Our favourite stay ever.

More than we could have hoped for. Quiet, private and comfortable with more than the usual quota of extras (eg. a vase of fresh flowers!) and thoughtfulness that made the stay something else . Along with the novelty of the charming historical road it was so very handy to town /eateries and shopping with little need for the car. We simply loved it .

Gorgeous wee place

A friend and I stayed at Jeanettes cottage last weekend when we were part of a Drs orchestra course at Nelson Music school. It was absolutely gorgeous, clean, had everything we needed. Heated up quickly with heat pump. Chocolate bars in fridge was a lovely touch! It was within easy walking distance of town centre, and the school of music. I am booked in to stay again later this year and looking forward to it. Jeanette was lovely host and very easy to contact. Highly recommend.

Good on so many levels

Was so pleased to stay in this 1864 cottage, it has been fully updated but is still redolent of its original history. Superbly located, a short charming walk to the top of Trafalgar street and cathedral steps. Parking was easy and it was mostly quiet except when the guy next door was mucking about with a hedge trimmer in his backyard. Parking was easy, lots of nice amenities and great selection on the smart TV. I say it's good on so many levels because it's literally on 4 levels..tread carefully when walking to the loo in the middle of the night! Would totes stay there again.

Close to many restaurants and takeaways in walking distance. Lovely historic street with friendly neighbours and a couple of cute cats. Comfy beds and couch. Well equipped kitchen, washing machine and clothes line. A home away from home and great to be in a cottage instead of a hotel room. We loved it!

Fantastic little house and location

Dillon Cottage is one of the historic cottages in South St, Nelson. It has been meticulously maintained and updated with everything needed for a short stay. We loved the location - walking distance to town, and the parking permit was a bonus. The house was spotlessly clean and our bed was perfectly comfortable.
