About the host
Hosted by Simon Shin
I’m a local pharmacist and spend most of my time working in the community here on Vancouver Island. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, getting out on the golf course, and finding ways to make home spaces more comfortable and enjoyable.
Hosting has been something I genuinely enjoy because it lets me create a place that I would personally want to stay in—clean, quiet, and thoughtfully set up. The sauna and outdoor space are actually some of my favorite parts of the home, and I’m glad guests get to enjoy them as well.
I try to keep things simple and smooth for guests, but I’m always available if you need anything during your stay.

What makes this property unique
What really makes this place stand out is the combination of privacy, comfort, and thoughtful details that you don’t always find in a typical stay.
The private outdoor space with a barrel sauna is a big highlight—especially after a day out exploring or just to unwind in the evening. It gives the space more of a retreat feel rather than just a place to sleep.
Inside, it’s designed for actual comfort, not just looks. The La-Z-Boy recliners, fully equipped kitchen, and in-suite laundry make it easy to settle in, whether you’re here for a few days or longer.
The home itself is built with ICF construction, which keeps it noticeably quieter and more comfortable year-round. Combined with the quiet cul-de-sac location near the creek, it’s a very peaceful environment with minimal traffic.
You also get practical features that make a difference:
EV charger on-site
Easy parking for multiple vehicles
Two proper bedrooms with queen beds (not makeshift setups)
Overall, it’s a space that feels private, well-built, and easy to relax in—something guests consistently appreciate.
