The place was spacious for our stay, access to the house was easy to follow, and amenities in the house were simple. However, the lower rating is due to numerous things. Upon arrival, there was still dirty dishes in the dishwasher and some food left in the fridge/freezer. We were not made aware of the constant construction happening directly beside us during the weekday/end which made it difficult for our toddler to nap. At the back entrance the stairs and stepping stones were loose/wobbly. Communication was good at the start but not great after we got there and questions were left unanswered. We specifically chose this place due to allergies as it said "no pets allowed" but when we arrived it was evident there had been pets. When we asked the host if there were pets previously in the house, the host did not answer the question even though there was pet hair on different surfaces (e.g. furniture, carpet, towels, old bedding), dog poop in the fenced in yard, hair sticking to clothes, and allergies acting up. Even with the cleaning fee and mentioning to the host; the place still had dust bunnies, hair balls, hair on bedding, pet hairs, pee stained toilets, and stained towels - he did offer someone to come clean up, however, it wouldn't have done anything since I had re-vaccumed and re-wiped down some surfaces. In addition, which was very off putting, I asked about mice problems and it was not answered. The basement had many mouse traps along with A LOT of mouse dropping.
