About this property
Golden Bay Log Cabin
Nestled on 2 acres in a private peninsula surrounded by tranquil lifestyle blocks, this log cabin is spacious and a piece of local history being the first log cabin built in Golden Bay. Only 2 minutes walk to the beach which is a stop-over for migratory waders including Godwits, Royal Spoonbills and Golden Plovers. Good safe swimming and kayaking at high tide, out of the hustle and bustle of the busiest spots in Summer. Enjoy this fully kitted out home with full kitchen, Smart TV and unlimited internet. Kids will love it but PLEASE NOTE, the loft bedroom has a steep exposed staircase and the deck has no rail so there are dangers for little ones! Please consider this before booking! There is a separate large rumpus-room with single beds, accessed from the outside (not through the house). The lovely master bedroom links on to the bathroom.
Only 5 minutes drive to Takaka township. Waipupu Springs, a beautiful bush walk to the clearest water in the world is a 5-minute drive away as well as popular swimming holes. Parapara Peak walk is a 10-minute drive away for a more demanding full day hike.
Bring your outside pets on holiday with you :)

About the host
Hosted by Sarah Forder
My husband and I are keen conservationists and nature lovers, we live near Wanaka and have recently bought this beautiful property.
Why they chose this property
We love the vagrant waders that come into this area, being so close to the beach and to the mountains!
What makes this property unique
It is SPACIOUS and in a very relaxed and private neighbourhood yet so close to Takaka township. The property is protected from the wind yet close enough to the beach to wander down any time of day.
