Nestled just behind a charming white picket fence, this beautifully restored 1846 cottage offers a peaceful, stylish escape while putting you moments from the CBD, the waterfront, Salamanca Place and Battery Point. The cottage is spacious, bright, and has a large private garden brimming with flowers and views of the iconic Mount Wellington.

Step inside and you’ll find a home that blends classic heritage features with modern living. Original convict brickwork, timber floors, and an old decorative fireplace gives the space warmth and history, while the interiors are bright, thoughtfully furnished and full of natural light.

The two comfortable bedrooms are complemented by a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower and full-sized bath. The front lounge is a cosy place to unwind after a day of exploring, and at the rear of the cottage a sun-filled living and dining area opens through French doors to a private courtyard and garden - a peaceful spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of Tasmanian wine in the evening.

The smart, light-filled kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals at home, and the layout makes it easy to enjoy time together whether you’re cooking, relaxing or dining. The cottage is designed to comfortably accommodate up to five guests, with a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom (2 singles) plus a trundle bed (also a single).

From this central location you can walk almost anywhere in Hobart - wander to the waterfront, browse the Salamanca Market, explore the galleries and cafés of Battery Point, or stroll through the city’s historic streets. Despite being so close to everything, the cottage remains a quiet retreat thanks to its double-glazed bedroom windows and thick walls typical of its heritage.

The home is fully equipped with essentials including fresh towels, toiletries, free Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. While on-site parking is limited due to the central location, we’re happy to suggest the best nearby options if you’re travelling with a car.

Please note, this house does NOT come with a parking space. There is free, 2 hour timed parking on the street outside (opposite side of a busy road), which is unlimited overnight.

Due to the property being contactless self check-in, booking guest is required to complete an online registration prior to check-in, which will include uploading a copy of their government issued ID (e.g. driver's license or passport). Retreats Tasmania have a strict no parties, no smoking, and no pet's policy.
