Welcom to the 'Sharlene Cottage'

If you are looking for a beach front property then look no further! This beautiful freshly remodeled 4 bedroom home sits directly on the beach - out the back door and into the water. Wonderful rear deck with soft seating overlooks the private sandy beach and Long Island sound. The cottage has been completely re-done inside and out. Everything is new! Free internet Wi Fi, Cable TV, AC. Completely furnished. All you need to bring is linens. It doesn't get any better than this!!!

Wonderful Beach House

This wonderful property is right on the beach! My husband and I enjoyed lovely beach days and took a spin in the kayaks that were available to guests. This would be great for families, too.

Co worker get away

Working with Karl and Sharlene was easy. They made the whole process go smoothly. The house is so adorable and the location is ideal. Would be a great family get away too. Will definitely think about renting again since we all loved the area!

Fall Stay

The home was in the right location and at the right time. The community is very quiet, especially off season. The rooms are lovely. Despite my comments below, I would rent this house again. Upon check in the bathroom was dirty. I knew about the self cleaning, but the standard of "clean" varies among people. In this case, my "clean" was very different than that of the last occupant. Hair in the shower, urine on the toilet, hair and tooth paste in the sink, etc. Recommendation is to sanitize the bathroom yourself upon check-in since you can't count on the previous occupant to do so. I do think that a linen service at a "reasonable" charge would be nice. Especially if you are flying across the country.

Hello Viki, I am very sorry to hear of the condition of the cottage upon your arrival. You are sooooo right...everybody has a different definition of clean. This coming season 2010 we have our own cleaning staff going over every rental property we have after each renter leaves to make certain that they leave the property clean. As for the linen's we do offer a linen package for each property, sorry you were not aware of that. We hope to see you again in the near future so you can see for yourself that we have corrected these propblems. Thanks Karl

Lovely weekend by the beach

We had a nice beach getaway to this cozy beach cottage! Steps away from the beach, in a lovely neighborhood as well. Nice beach amenities as well - like chairs, umbrellas, kayaks even! Some things around the house could use a couple updates like the squeaky beds and mattresses. Overall, happy to have stayed here for a long weekend.

A new family tradition

My family of five had a wonderful time in Sharlene Cottage. We woke up to the water every morning. With kids it was incredibly convenient to just walk a few steps to the beach without having to lug anything. It’s that one thing that helped my wife and I to relax. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking and biking with kids. Great casual seafood restaurants are everywhere, including Bill’s Seafood. A great place. Karl the owner was incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive. The cottage itself was beautiful, bright, comfortable, and everything was in the right place. Plus air conditioning! We can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful little cottage on the water

The property is cute clean and right on the water! The only thing I’d advise is that in the kaitlyn cottage there is technically one more cottage between this house and the water but you’re still right there. Just don’t have the same view if you’re sitting outside or on the little deck. The beach is also shared with whoever else is in throes places, which for us was SUPER fun because everyone who stayed was awesome and friendly and it made for a very fun social time. Plenty of beds for multiple guests and AC throughout the house. The owner was helpful getting us into the property and even let us arrive a little early which was nice. Tons of bars restaurants and shopping just a mile from the house. Highly recommend :)

Wonderful place to stay

We stayed at the Charlene cottage over Memorial Day weekend. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, we still had a great time playing puzzles, board games and cards. The electric heater kept the entire cottage cozy. Everything was clean, the property was perfect for families. The beach is private and only a few steps away. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. Shopping is very convenient. Will definitely be staying here again.

Clean quaint cottage

Gathered at this adorable cottage with a few college girlfriends for 2 days. House was very clean and accommodating. Check in was a breeze. Property has two other cottages which could be a great way to gather with additional family.

Adorable house right on the beach

Beautiful property with everything you would need for a relaxing beach vacation. The location doesn’t get any better, in a nice, safe neighborhood, directly on the beach. We would definitely rent this house again!

My family had a blast at this beautiful cottage ! The water is steps away and I loved waking up to the ocean view from the bedroom . The host was helpful and very friendly ! Only regret is I wish we could've stayed longer . I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great getaway !

We had such a great time staying in this lovely beach cottage. It was clean and very inviting with all the basic necessities. The decks and a balcony were relaxing... just what we needed. I can’t wait to book again next year.

Amazing, unforgettable getaway!

I highly recommend the 'Sharlene' cottage (as well as the other properties offered by New England Cottages). The Sharlene cottage and the next door 'Viola' and 'Kaitlyn' cottages are very tastefully decorated and comfortable for a couple or family. They are truly what you imagine a beach cottage to be (charm of yester year), but with modern amenities and decor. The owners/hosts were very gracious. The location right on the beach is amazing. Loved waking up to the ocean view from the bedroom balcony. Kids loved the Hobbie Cat sailboat and swim platform. Front and back porches were fantastic for relaxing. Property had everything you would need including a stainless gas grill. Very convenient to local grocery stores, restaurants, Clinton Outlets, etc. Enjoyed a cappuccino and scone at the M. Sarba cafe and art gallery. Would love to come back to this property or other New England Cottages properties in the near future! So glad we found this cottage for a much needed family getaway. Although we were not far from home, it felt like we were truly 'away' on vacation.

Extremely enjoyable!

My family and I stayed in the Sharlene cottage this past summer. We all had a very memorable experience. My children are 3 years old and they absolutely had a blast! The beach is so convienent, just walk out the back door and your there. I would highly reccomend a stay in any of the 3 cottages on this property. They are all well up to date and very clean! The only thing I would reccomend to the owner or see if its ok to bring a gas grill, I am just not a big charcoal fan. But other than that, the stay was magnificent. The area is chock full of activities for people of all ages wether it be dining, shopping, fishing etc.. Well worth it! Thanks Karl!!!!

The Sharlene Cottage

My family & I love the cottage & beach.It is a home away from home for us.There is everything there & more.They did a beautiful job with the decor.We really enjoy the private beach with the many extra's,like the floating dock,the rafts & the beach chairs.We look forward to our vacation in Aug.This is one of the nicest cottage's I have seen,& I have looked.We would never stay any where else,I only wish I could stay longer.The owners did an awsome job with these cottages,and there nice people to rent from.I do recommend this cottage to my family,friends & my customers.
