About the host
Hosted by Candice
We live in Alberta, but my husband was from Stock Cove. We bring our family back every summer to visiter our friends and family in the area. We love the scenery, tranquility, and freedoms that small town Newfoundland has to offer. Time seems to slow down a little, you can relax and enjoy the moments.
Why they chose this property
This house was my husbands great uncles house. It is just over 100 years old. My husband grew up right across the road from this house in the main family homestead. That house is no longer there, it sat vacant for a while and was torn down a couple years ago. It was over 150 years old.
What makes this property unique
This property is so peaceful and beautiful. It’s very private and you only have 1 neighbor. You can see the community warf from the deck. Nice view of the ocean from the deck and nothing beats a coffee outside with the sun shining down on you and it energizes you to start your day. You can get to all the major touristy areas in just a short drive. Come back in the evening and enjoy a quiet walk down to the beach, watch the locals fillet some cod on the warf or enjoy a glass of wine on the deck and watch the stars or have a fire in the back yard. You can also find sea glass on the beach, my kids love to walk down there and collect them. They call the sea glass mermaid tears. You will likely see whales and ice berg in the spring, and the fields between the cottage and the ocean will be full of wild blueberries in August. The area is yours to explore, so go have fun.
