In quiet cul de sac located at 18 mile post off the beach road, 800 feet to the beach and ocean. The house is well maintained, and mostly rented by repeat renters. The 2nd floor is the Great Room/Kitchen and large screened-in-porch...a favorite place to enjoy the breeze, views and quite. 1st Floor - 3 bedrooms and Sleeping Porch. Ground floor has utility room with washer/dryer, extra refrigerator, Two large outside showers, swings, picnic table, fish cleaning station...one of many comfortable hang out spaces.

Beautiful home with excellent hosts, filled with charm and nestled in a really quiet and family friendly neighborhood. You could feel the history of the home told through poetry and pictures on the wall as well as photo albums documenting the house as it was originally built, and the family who treasured it. I found myself fascinated by that and it really added to the home’s unique feel and character. Hosts also really made sure the house was stocked with everything you could need.

A great get-away

We made our first trip to the OBX and stayed at this property. Communication with the host was outstanding. It was clean, orderly and well stocked. It had everything you could ever need. Since we were there after Labor Day the roads and beach were not crowded at all, which we appreciated. Definitely recommended and would stay again when we venture back to OBX. Also, since it is in Nags Head it is centrally located and an easy drive to multiple areas.

Great vacation home

We really enjoyed staying at this lovely home during our vacation. It’s in a residential area of Nags head with secluded beach area which was exactly what we were looking for. Kitchen is fully equipped. The patio is perfect for coffee in the morning or having a cocktail in the evening. It was very convenient to have plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler (even though a bit old), and beach bikes. We would stay here again.

Nags Head Fishing Trip

This was the second year in a row we rented Chicago Connection for the Surf Fishing Tournament. Fishing not so good but house was fine for the 6 guys. Quiet location except for the garbage truck at 4:30AM!

Our first trip to the Outer Banks, we were very impressed with this property. Location is great, just a short walk to the beach and centrally located on the Outer Banks for day trip excursions in the car. Fully stocked with everything you need for the beach--chairs, toys, boogie boards, towels, and two outdoor showers. The upstairs and deck are very bright and nice views (you can even see Bodie Lighthouse in the distance). Nice kitchen and outdoors grill if you want to save some money by not eating out for every meal. Overall highly recommended.

I loved the layout of the house with all the bedrooms on the same level. The bonus sun room was fun for the kids to hang out in too. And the screened in dining off the kitchen was a great place for breakfast. It seems like the top level (kitchen) has been recently remodeled. The main level (bedrooms) is as pictured and very well kept but more dated. They indicate that “light cleaning” is done between guests and we found to the house to overall very well kept.

Amazing Spot!!

This place was amazing!! Where to begin? Beautiful home, appliances, furniture, everything was very up to date and well stocked. Plenty of kitchen supplies, linens, towels, etc. Everything was labelled so well!! Our family felt the layout was very intuitive and we didn't find ourselves lacking any appliance or other beach essentials. Can't beat the spot, very close to the beach, a very quick walk. Two outdoor showers!! This was super helpful when bringing kids back from the beach that wanted to shower simultaneously. Highly recommend this place, we certainly hope to return in the future if we are able to. :-)

We enjoyed staying here. The house is very comfortable with lots of natural light upstairs in the main living room and kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch and watching the birds. We where very happy with the house. The kitchen and upstairs were very nice. There was some disappointment with the master bedroom. I call it a master bedroom because the bathroom is part of the bedroom. The shower is not big enough for an adult to shower in. The beds could be a lot more comfortable. My sister and her husband stayed with us for a few days and agreed on the beds. Would I recommend this property to friends, or stay there again? Yes I would, if the beds were upgraded.

Comfortable and Well Stocked

We had a great time at the Chicago Connection. The owners have thought of everything. We enjoyed our stay and found the home to be comfortable and clean. The sleeping porch was a favorite hang out to read books and just hang out. I loved the screened-in porch for family dinners and morning coffee. The wifi connection was great and seemed to reach all locations of the home. If you sit on the back porch, you can catch the sunset. If I had to make a recommendation it would be that the bedroom level could be updated; but this certainly wouldn't deter us from renting again! I don't think you'd be disappointed to stay a week or several! I'd also say the owners are readily available and answered all of our questions. Thanks for a great stay!

Fabulous place to stay

The four of us had a great week in this fabulous house! Everything we could have possibly needed is in this house. It was nice to be in a quiet residential neighborhood that was just steps from the ocean. We could always hear the ocean any time of day or night. We just love this place!

We live outside of Chicago, IL and have been traveling as often as we can to South Nags Head, for over 50 years. South Nags Head is a very special place. We love the sea air, the ever changing ocean, the wild life, the time with family or a solo walk, great food and so much to see and do in the area.
We love sharing the joy of our cottage home with others, so they can experience this memorable area.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property due to its location in South Nags Head. Where behind us is all National Sea Shore, nothing can be built. 800 feet from the Ocean because we want it to be around for generations to come. Another biggie is that no commercial retail can be built in South Nags Head...so it's quite and traffic is not crazy. But we don't have to go far for groceries, restaurants and lots to do. The property is between two outstanding piers, a quick drive to Manteo or Pea Island. We can see the Bodie Island Light House from our deck.

What makes this property unique

You will find our home to be peaceful, have comfortable furniture but not over furnished, attractive with a sprinkle of whimsical. We have created various enjoyable gathering places for family and friends...along with places to slip away for private time. The screen porch and under the house are favorites. The sun sets and seeing the light house in the distance and the stars at night and the 2 outdoor showers...these things never get old!

The home is Well Stocked!!! There are the paper goods; tp, paper towels, napkins and tissues. Dish soap, dish towels, hand soaps and trash bags. There are many spices, flour and sugar(s), various condiments and usually syrup and sometimes pancake mix. Of course hair dryers, sowing kit, nail polish remover and cotton swabs...you are getting the jest. The kitchen for example has an air fryer and has both types of coffee makers and filters for the by the pot maker and filters for the one cup at a time maker...Bring Coffee and Creamer. We have a couple of beach bikes, a beach cart, a few beach chairs, boogey boards, too many kids beach toys...Bring an Umbrella those are hard to keep in working order. Bring extra beach chairs if that's what folks like. Oh yea, we have coolers and a frig with an ice maker on the ground level and a fish cleaning station on the north side of the house.

There are games and DVDs with a player and various books! The great room tv is a smart tv. We have 22 various cable stations and Roku on the main and the master tv. No CD player.

Lastly, no contact check in and check out.
