The home was lovely. It was beautiful and clean. It was supposed to be perfect for our stay this past weekend for an event we vended at. Instead of getting two hotel rooms, this was perfect to cut cost. This is a business expense for my small business. You did as a host should to accommodate. But our stay was horrible. 1. Broken coffee maker with molded coffee grounds. This was also a fire hazard since the reservoir was leaking onto the electronics. 2. All the upstairs vents were closed is why it was so hot. I understand it was during a heat wave but when we figured out two of three bedrooms had the vents closed it helped. But I still had to buy fans to help. 403. The bugs were a huge problem. Huge “water bugs” were crawling in the two of beds adult kids left the 2nd night after sleeping the first night on the couch and got a hotel which I will have to reimburse them for 3594. The dryer did not work. We had to load up in the rain and I was hoping to dry our clothes before leaving. I’m super glad I did not wash our clothes the night before. 5. A storm blew through and a piece of the eve dropped two stories and could have killed someone. It had three in nails.

We’re glad you found the home lovely, beautiful, and clean, and that the space initially felt like a good fit for your trip. We’re sorry the stay was disrupted by concerns with the coffee maker, upstairs temperature, bugs, dryer, and storm-related exterior damage. We appreciate you bringing these items to our attention. The home’s comfort, cleanliness, functionality, and safety are important to us, and we take concerns in those areas seriously as we continue caring for the property for future guests.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were excited about this historic home but left after one night due to filthy conditions and cockroaches. Before arriving, we asked management about a recent review mentioning water bugs/cockroaches. We were assured the issues were resolved, the review was exaggerated, and they only occasionally had "water bugs."Upon arrival, we found sticky traps, dirty dishes and dusty fans. Our friends' dogs kept trying to get beneath the kitchen cabinets, which have a several-inch opening. We looked underneath and found an old chicken bone, rotting lime, dead cockroaches, traps and extensive filth. Ben claimed it must have been out of sight for cleaners, despite being easily visible by simply looking under the cabinets. When we explained how we discovered the bone, he sarcastically replied "good dog," disregarding the potential danger. We later found LIVE cockroaches, identified by our phones as brown-banded cockroaches. Ben continued minimizing our concerns. At 4 AM, crawling and scratching sounds woke us. We were disgusted, exhausted and desperate to leave. We contacted VRBO who reviewed our photos, agreed the conditions were unacceptable and required management to relocate us or refund our remaining nights. We were still charged half the cleaning fee despite the house clearly not being properly cleaned before our arrival. Completely unreasonable! We appreciate VRBO's assistance, but the host and management were dismissive and unprofessional.
