About the host
Hosted by Seaside Treehouse Lodge
Greetings ! My name is Ania and my husband John want to welcome you to our sanctuary. I am a retired Doc and my husband is a not quite retired yet Doc. After living in various parts of the world, we moved to Nova Scotia in 2003 after becoming smitten with it while on vacation here one summer. We have fallen in love with the people, the environment and the overall natural beauty of this very special place. Sharing this piece of secret wonder is a special treat for us, and we love to host newcomers to the area.
Why they chose this property
Growing up by the atlantic ocean in New York and by the Great Lakes, we have always had a draw to the sea. The proximity to the ocean air and its seascape is a natural draw for us .
What makes this property unique
Our home is a unique heritage timber frame home that has been built by artisans who have hand crafted much of the interior. The base of the home is built from a heritage barn and salvaged beams. Central to its design is a majestic white pine as it main post of the house along with its limbs as the structural piece for its staircase to the top of the treehouse. Bespoke details of iron and wood are throughout the house. It has been featured in "Nest" from the Herald Magazine and has won the People's Choice Award by the Nova Scotia Home Designers Association in 2009
