This waterfront cabin sits on Pelaw Lake, a rugged spot in Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. Sharing the lake with our Quasi and Kaya cabins, it’s the perfect base for cyclists, hikers, and paddlers looking to relax after a day of adventure in the Haliburton Highlands.
Through our partnership with Haliburton Forest, guests enjoy 100,000 acres of wilderness. Trails for hiking, biking, and winter snowshoeing are included in your stay—snowmobile trails require a seasonal pass.
BE AWARE This cabin shares the area with our Quasi and Kaya cabins, which are about 100 metres apart on their own private lots, so you may see or hear other guests on the property and the lake.
This cabin features a wild shoreline, with deep, clear swimming available at our paddling-access dock.
WATER Our water is pumped from the lake. Running water is shut off when temperatures dip below freezing. This normally happens mid-October but can vary each year. When running water is shut off, we provide 40L of water for dish washing and drinking. All taps (including shower taps) are turned off. Water is turned back on before the May Long Weekend.
ACCESS Drive-in Access: Year-round access. 2WD and low-clearance vehicles should use caution; AWD or 4WD is recommended in winter.
THINGS TO BRING * Your own food & drink * Your own towels, sheets, pillows, pillow cases and blankets * Firewood * Bug repellent
OFF-GRID BASICS This eco-cabin is completely OFF-GRID. (Don’t let this scare you). Our cabin is modernized and solar powered with electricity and heat. Feel good knowing that you’re choosing a low-carbon, eco-friendly getaway. As an off-grid cabin, energy conservation is key. Drawing too much energy may cause you to lose power, so you’ll need to be mindful of your consumption during your stay. There is a back-up generator when solar power is low.
LEAVE NO TRACE All garbage and recycling must be packed up and taken home on your departure.
