About this property

Le Petit Manitou | Where Montréal disappears and nature takes over

Welcome to Le Petit Manitou — a peaceful waterfront retreat just 20 minutes from Montréal, yet feeling worlds away.
From the moment you arrive, the city fades and nature takes over. Set directly on the river with no visible neighbors in your backyard, this chalet offers a rare sense of calm, privacy, and escape — without the long drive.
Mornings begin with coffee by the water, watching the light reflect across the river. Spend your days paddle boarding, fishing, or simply relaxing on the dock. As the sun sets, gather around the fire pit by the water for slow, unforgettable evenings.
Inside, the chalet is designed for comfort and connection. It sleeps up to 6 guests with a warm, inviting layout perfect for families or couples. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need, along with a Nespresso machine to start your mornings right. Large windows bring the outdoors in, creating a peaceful atmosphere throughout the space.
Despite the feeling of complete escape, you’re just minutes away from restaurants, cafés, and Place Bell in Laval. A golf course, tennis courts, and recreational areas are also within walking distance, offering the perfect balance between nature and convenience.
Whether you’re looking to unwind, reconnect, or simply enjoy time by the water, Le Petit Manitou offers a unique stay that feels far from everything — while being closer than you think.

This is a sweet retreat! This little rustic beauty is nestled in the trees, sits on the riverbank, and has a wonderful view of the river and the many islands within it. It's easy to forget you are in the city because it is so private. The house is tastefully decorated, large, and comfortable, with loads of natural light. There are lovely outdoor areas - a patio with ample seating and a fire pit with seating. Mario and Anais are consummate hosts - delightful, effective communicators, and very attentive, assuring all was going well with our stay. Our main reason for the stay was to acquaint ourselves with Montreal, so we drove to the nearest Metro Station (16 minutes by car) and had a very easy time getting in and out of the city. The best of both - city visits during the day with lovely, comfortable evenings at our home away from home. Our hosts were very accommodating when we had questions about navigating the Metro and road systems.Would definitely choose this place again ourselves and highly recommend it to others.
