Welcome to our Potters Cottage. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it’s ideal for a relaxed escape with friends in a laid-back quiet family holiday. Just a short ferry ride from Auckland CBD, this sunny cottage sits in the peaceful heart of Onetangi and is perfectly placed for beach days, long lunches and warm evenings on Waiheke. This home is our family bach that we rarely use, & is very well priced. Lots of birdlife which you an hear day & night from property.
The space The Potters Cottage has an easy, open-plan layout with living, kitchen and dining flowing out to a sunny patio, perfect for BBQs, outdoor dinners and relaxed summer catch-ups. The master bedroom has a Queen bed and family bathroom are on the ground floor. Upstairs has a second bedroom has a King bed, plus an extra bathroom for privacy if two families.
A short vineyard-side walk takes you to Casita Miro, one of the island’s most loved spots for long summer lunches.
10 minute stroll brings you to Onetangi’s white sand beach, one of New Zealand’s best. Swim, paddleboard or simply relax in the sun. Stop in at Charlie’s for something casual, or book a beachfront table at Ki Maha or ThreeSevenTwo for a standout summer meal.
If you want to explore more of Waiheke’s food and wine scene, the Onetangi Valley is near by. It’s home to some of the island’s most popular spots, including Tantalus, Wild on Waiheke and Heke Brewery, along with a handful of other great places for tastings, long lunches and relaxed afternoons in the sun.
Getting around is simple with the nearby bus route connecting you to Oneroa, cafés, markets and the ferry. The Waiheke Golf Club is just a short drive away, along with iconic wineries like Tantalus, Stony Ridge, Wild on Waiheke and Heke Brewery.
For explorers, the Te Ara Hura walking network begins right outside the cottage. These trails link beaches, native bush and coastal viewpoints. You can dip into short sections or take on the full 100 kilometre loop around the island.

Other things to note Waiheke Island has a unique transport setup that’s helpful to keep in mind when planning your stay. Public buses connect the main areas of the island, with the closest stop about a 10-minute walk down the hill from The Potters Cottage. Catch bus No.50 down to the ferry or main shops in Oneroa. You can also catch bus 50A or 50B from the ferry terminal to bottom of our street.
