About this property

Renovated River House on the Betsie in Northern Michigan

Experience picturesque Northern Michigan and everything it has to offer. This newly renovated cabin sits along the scenic Betsie River located less than two miles from Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf Resort. This location offers fun for winter, spring, summer, AND fall!

The River House offers all the comforts of home. The main level features an open-concept kitchen/dining/living area with a 55” smart TV and sliding glass door that opens to the 12x32’ deck overlooking the river. The main-level also includes a master king with master bath, a second bedroom with a queen bed, a hallway bathroom that features a large walk-in rain shower, and a stackable washer and dryer.

The fully-equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, electric stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee makers (drip, k-cup and french press), coffee grinder, toaster, griddle, crockpot, dishware, cookware and utensils.

The lower level offers a landscaped walk-out overlooking the river. There is a large family room with a 55” smart TV, small refrigerator, microwave, cupboards, air hockey, games and books for kids and adults. The lower level also includes a 3rd bedroom with a king bed and river view, and a bunk-room.

This cabin retreat offers a gas fireplace for cozy Michigan winters, central AC in the summer, Wi-Fi access, gas grill and fire pit. The large mud room is a convenient place to keep all of your summer and winter activity gear.

The Betsie River, known for its Steelhead and Salmon, is easily accessible from the River House with new stairs and boardwalk leading to the dock. At the dock you can fish, start or end a river journey, enjoy that first cup of coffee in the morning or the last drink of the day. If you are lucky, you may spot a Bald Eagle, Broad-winged Hawk or Owl flying along the river or perched in a tree. For the fishermen, there is a large stainless fish-cleaning station for the many fish that will be caught!

Crystal Mountain Resort offers winter downhill and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In the summer, it offers acclaimed golf courses, an alpine slide, hiking trails and the Michigan Legacy Art park. Two restaurants and a pub are open year-around at Crystal. If you are a golfer, there are many golf courses in the area including Pinecroft Golf Course, Crystal Downs and Arcadia Bluffs to name a few.

The River House is located in an idyllic location! Fifteen minutes from Beulah and the beautiful Crystal Lake, if you are a boater. Twenty minutes from Lake Michigan, Frankfort, Point Betsie Lighthouse, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, Arcadia and Interlochen. Traverse City is only 35 minutes north. The Tippy Dam is only 35 minutes south. St. Ambrose Cellars is 10 minutes away and the Iron Fish Distillery is a 5 minute drive up the road. There is something for everyone!

Empty Nesters Weekend
Everyone loved the house. Very nicely appointed house with very sensible flooring, beautiful deck, and placement of amenities. The stairs to the river are a few flights down, but not too bad. Early salmon starting to come up the Betsie River. Also, sit on the river at first light, you may see a Bald Eagle fly directly over the river and your head looking for breakfast. I did. Thanks Sandy and Duke for sharing this property.

Great Get-a-Way for Long-time Friends
A reunion of 9 - all over 60 - friends from college had a most relaxing stay at Betsie River House. Beds were super comfy - even the bunks! Kitchen was excellently appointed. The house was spotless. Toiletries supplied were a nice touch, as well as lovely towels. The outside decks and view of the river made our morning coffee conversations even more enjoyable. Highly recommend the Betsie River House!
