Was a great get away and had everything we needed.

Worked out great for our needs. Definitely needs some updating and TLC in the kitchen, lights, outside chairs, etc. But loved the location, dock, fire pit, etc. I’d stay there again and recommend to others.

Poconos Retreat

Hosted a low-key bachelor party at the lake house and it was perfect location. The house is massive, plenty of activities (pool table, foosball, etc) and space, and the dock and firepit were great. The house itself is beautiful; the furniture could use an upgrade, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience. I would certainly recommend this property

Beautiful house on the lake, great accomodations!

A beautiful house on the lake with plenty of bedrooms and baths for large groups. The house is very well kept, clean, and tidy. It could use a little TLC with the replacement of some kitchen drawers, faucets, and outdoor furniture. We appreciated the accomodations from the host and the kitchen had plenty of utensils. Thanks for the great weekend, 5 stars!

Beautiful House! Fantastic Area!

We loved our 3-day-Weekend at 107 Bass Court - the Community is beautiful and the house is modern and comfortable! David was an excellent host - we had an initial issue with the WiFi that he helped fix immediately. The view from every window is so picturesque - and sitting around the fire pit was soooo relaxing! Our family was 9 - my mother celebrating her 80th, my husband and 2 YA kids, and my brother, his wife and their 3 teenagers. All and all a perfect rental.

Needs some updating but exactly what we needed

House was large for our group and had everything that we needed. We did have to dispose of three dead mice and to wipe off the kitchen counters because it seemed that they were skipped during the cleaning process. Many of the sliding doors and screens are broken or will not lock properly. Property is somewhat outdated. However, we would definitely stay at this property again! Views were beautiful, and everyone slept comfortably! We appreciated the small, thoughtful touches like the decor and how the towels were folded. Soap/hygiene product samples were appreciated as well (like a hotel!). Our group enjoyed the kayak/jon boat and the private dock as well!

Terrific

Property is exactly as represented. Was thrilled with house, yard, lake, community and overall location. Many windows, sliding glass doors and outside decks provide wide, bright views of the lake. Lots of beautiful, comfy spaces to relax. Previous review criticised the beds. We had no complaints and everyone slept well. We bought firewood locally and enjoyed the pirepit. We did cook in the kitchen and found everything we needed.. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return maybe making it an annual event. Oh, BTW, host David was available and immediately responsive to any and all of our queries.

Excellent home and location

David had just purchased the home 3 days before he listed it for rent. That being said he did everything he could to make our stay a pleasant one. Very good communication with him which helped with the many questions we had. The house and location are great. Right on the lake with a nice sized dock. You can bring your own kayaks etc. and he may have some to use as well I found out if you rent during the week you can all the amenities but on the weekends as a renter you cannot utilize them The house was wonderful. We only used 3 of the bedrooms but it can sleep much more than that. Central location is great near beach. It was my first time at this development in the Poconos. I owned and rented elsewhere and I would definitely return. Very nice stay and I will return next year

Good/Not so good

The location of the house was very nice with great views of the lake from the back deck. The layout of the house was great with plenty of room. The staff at the office was very helpful and the bar/restaurant was a nice place to grab a drink and pub meal. Unfortunately, the house itself is in need of some TLC. Furniture is worn, cabinets chipped, some bathroom items rusted etc. The house is also in need of a good cleaning. Ceiling fans were full of dust, cobwebs on some of the hanging decorative items. The sliding doors were all smudged which was a shame, since the lake is so pretty.

Amazing house and area

We rented as a family get away with another family. All together there was 7 of us. (Originally planned for 10 but one family had to drop out). This house is big and fit everyone with ease. The house was very clean and we did not experience any issues. The way the house is decorated is great. The outdoor theme in every room is amazing. We used the boat and went fishing two days. Sat by the fire pit every night for smores. Very relaxing just sitting looking at the lake. Having the house on the lake made for great views. The way the house is set up allowed us to view the lake whenever we were inside eating or taking advantage of the decks. We saw a lot of deer! Tons. We even fed them by hand. The kids loved it. We also traveled to a waterfall a short drive away which was great. David was very responsive. A great host. Would absolutely recommend this property. Overall 5 stars no doubt.

Nice neighborhood, deficiencies at the house

When arrived on THURSDAY 9/29, 3:45PM, I found the refrigerator warm. And someone had just prior placed a bag of ice in the freezer part. … I sent an email to the owner and informed him of the problem. I got a call from someone shortly, who insisted the fridge is working. I said it is not. He said it was when the cleaning crew was there and suggested I should turn the knubs. I said there are no knubs as the fridge has touch buttons. He said he is 2 hours away and cannot do anything now. I said I have meat and dairies and require refrigeration. He got annoyed and said, “if you don’t like things, you can leave, and I will give your money back”. How rude!!! I politely said I have guests from other states and cannot just leave. He said he will get back to me. Later that evening some people delivered a 4.5 CF refrigerator which was missing the handle. But it was a big help. On a different matter, next day he called. I brought to his attention there was only one paper towel at the house, no additional toilet paper at least 3 bathrooms, and only 2 extra trash bags under the sink. He resisted to accept the shortcomings but directed me to a storge which I found toilet papers, but no paper towels and trash bags. I said if these were not going to be provided, I would have gladly brought some with me. Next day he had people deliver the supplies. On SUNDAY 10/1, more than 2 days after the arrival, I got a message thru Vrbo from the owner saying “Understood Leigh is helping. Let us know how goes. Best”. Well thank you so very much for the follow up!!! My group enjoyed the daily walks and I would like to remember that and "try" to forget about everything else.

Although the home had been cleaned, my family and I felt that it could use some deeper cleaning. the walls appeared dirty in some areas and there was food left in the freezer. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. The view was beautiful and it was on a relaxing/quiet road. We appreciated that we were able to bring our elderly dog. We did have trouble with all the sliding doors working smoothly and there was one in the basement we had trouble closing all the way. I don't think the home is in the same condition as what is advertised in the pictures (i.e. one of the living room shades were entirely ripped down) We still had a wonderful time but I think this posting needs some updated information!

Lovely Lake House

You can enjoy the beautiful views of the lake from almost every room in the house, and there was plenty of space for our group to spend time together or spread out if anyone wanted some alone time. The comfortable sofa in one of the solarium window areas was my favorite spot during a rainstorm. The Masthope community pools, lake beach, riverfront, and kayaks and paddle boats were a big hit! As noted by previous reviewers there are some bits of the house that could use some TLC, but I had read those reviews and it didn’t really impact our enjoyment of our vacation. This house may not be “sleek and pristine” like new construction, but it was perfect for our family to enjoy the lovely setting and time together.

Where do I start and not in a good way.

First off we could not use the HOA facilities. Because the leasing agent never sent me the registration form. After speaking with them the following day and being assured everything was fixed. I was lied to again. The HOA called the home owner who completed the registration form for us. Next the listing states there are kayaks and canoes that the property has. However they are completely deteriorated. Not up to date on any current registration. They we're stuck in the mud, completely filled with water and you can tell they have not been used or taken care of this year. The house is in complete disrepair. Majority of the sliding doors were extremely difficult to open and close. The basement sliding door does not close or lock. Which is completely unsafe. The bottom of this door is completely rotted out and we had a snake come in through the opening. There is junk left around the property car battery down at the dock that has been sitting there for what looks like years. Wicker furniture that is laying outside deteriorating. The chairs lying around the fire pit are falling apart. The blinds with the skylight windows do not work at all. They are held together by pieces of string and tape. The TV in the master bedroom has no remote control for the fire stick that the listing claims they have. There are cable box remotes but no cable boxes to watch TV with. The refrigerator must have been turned off before we arrived. Because it did not cool down until the following day.

A great place to spend Christmas!

The house is so lovely--the pictures that show the space are completely accurate. And there was so much space. It was VERY cold (below zero for much of the weekend) so we were inside most of the time and were so glad for all the different spaces we could be in. We would definitely go back. That said, there were a few things that can easily be fixed: 1) The instructions for the heat were incomplete. It was VERY cold, especially the first morning, and it seemed like there were only 2-3 thermostats we were supposed to use. Once someone came and explained that the thermostats were only taped over to keep children from playing with them and showed us the wall units that had appeared to be air conditioners but were also heaters, we were able to get enough heat. 2) There needs to be more silverware, especially forks--we did not have enough forks for all 14 people to have a fork. 3) Likewise, a few folding chairs would have helped. There were not enough chairs for all of us to sit on at the dining table. 4) The manager and cleaning person were helpful although there was some miscommunication. When we went to the office, they did not have our information and it took some time to get our garbage pass, etc. Also, we understood that we needed to leave by 11 on our final day but were told late the night before that our checkout needed to be at 10. This was not possible for us but I think it caused some issues in getting the place ready for the next people. The fact that only one person was supposed to do the wash, change the beds, clean the space, etc. seems a bit unrealistic. However, all that said, we loved being there and would go back again. Thank you for your lovely home.

Great Family Retreat

David’s house is perfect for a big family looking for a beautiful lakefront getaway. Our extended family of 9 arrived in October and found the house very clean and well furnished. The kitchen had superior quality utensils & appliances for cooking and serving meals on the large dining room table with enough seating for all of us. The living & family rooms had ample comfortable couches & nice tv monitors. The views of the lake from the large glass windows throughout the house and from the outside deck was just spectacular. We fished off the dock and explored the lake in the row boat and enjoyed the weather and beautiful fall colors. The dock sits in relatively shallow waters but that did not stop our youngest grandson from catching a large mouth bass right at the end of the dock. We found David to be a great owner, very easy to reach via email and phone and very responsive to any questions we had. Overall we had a wonderful time at a great house in a beautiful location. Thank you David!

Quiet retreat

The house was a perfect size for our group with places to play for the kids and reading spots for the adults. The community has a secure feeling with amenities that we enjoyed, especially the common beach. The thing we missed most was a small splash area by the dock for the kids. We didn't let them swim off the dock due to the murkiness of the water.

Spacious family home to rent.

Our group of 5 adults and 5 children enjoyed the spacious rooms. The game room with a pool table was great for evening competition. The natural beauty and wildlife at this lake front property was amazing. The house was just as described and very clean. The community experience of the pool, farmers market, walking trail etc. gave us plenty to do. I would say if you are wanting to swim off the dock, this isn’t a great place for that. The kids did enjoy kayaking around. The fishing here isn’t the best either but this is a perfect place to relax.

Roomy, comfortable and a very nice view.

We were a family of 10. (Two of us contracted Covid & couldn’t come). The house had lots of room & nice decks. The sunsets were beautiful and the dock was good for fishing. The lake was too low to swim but we did take the boats out for fun & fishing. The lake beach was a 5 minute walk & super fun for adults & kids. The pools (3) up at the community center were really great for everyone. We also enjoyed a few games of mini golf with the kids. All the beds except for the bottom bunk were plenty comfortable. The pull out couches were not comfortable. The linens on the beds & the towels were all clean & fresh. The house was clean although there was dust under couches & in some corners. We could have used more forks, glasses & cups and wineglasses but made do with store bought plastic ware. The water pressure was great in the showers. The freezer worked intermittently. The grill was a good size for all of us & worked well. It was hot this week & the A/C worked just fine.
