With vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning stove, gorgeous outdoor spaces, and a spacious layout, everyone will feel right at home in no time. Start foggy mornings with a cup of coffee on the deck and breathe in the fresh air as you plan a full day of fun. Though this home is secluded on its own part of the island, heading into town or spending a day on the water will be a breeze. If there are a few outdoorsy members of the group, they will be glad to know that Moran State Park is also close by boasting gorgeous trails, expansive greenery, and various lakes to get your fill of nature.

Lovely house that is a very short walk to the beach and overlook. We enjoyed coffee out on the deck and waking to seeing the sunrise over the ocean from the master bedroom. Extremely peaceful and relaxing setting.

Great house near Eastsound!

We came to explore Eastsound and Doe Bay, so this house was the perfect spot to enjoy fun evenings of games while still being close enough to get to town and around the whole island. The front porch is wonderful with comfy furniture and lots of space. The bedrooms are on split levels with lots of room. Great kitchen with everything we needed. Very easy check-in instructions and no long chore list for checking out. Thank you for being dog-friendly!

Great place for a relaxed moment away from city

The property is very well maintained in a remote location close to a private beach. The ocean view from the upper room is delightful. A bit cold in the winter despite the numerous small electric heaters, but this adds to the rusticity of the place. The kids loved it too!

Great Location for a good relaxing feel.

It was a great stay, was easy to check-in and check-out. we didn't attempt to go to the beach so I cannot speak to the proximity or quality of the beach. Otherwise the drive to the home was beautiful and it is only 15 minutes to anything we need including amazing restaurants. We will be coming back!

Wonderful cabin!

We loved our stay at this nicely renovated house in the woods! It made me want to move to the island and live in that peaceful spot all the time! There was a fairly well equipped kitchen but there was only one small cutting board which made cooking meals a little tough.

Overall the place looks rather rundown. Immediately on entering you notice a mildewy smell and dusty light globes.The lawn wasn't mowed and the outside of the house was covered in cobwebs. The furniture was worn and not comfortable. Only the upstairs bedroom has a slight view of the water through the trees. The other 2 bedrooms were small and covered in two kinds of old paneling. The bathrooms were newer and nice and clean.

Lovely home in beautiful woods

Spacious house with very well equipped kitchen. Space heaters for the cool nights. Available wood was too wet to make a proper fire in the wood stove. Key pad entry hard to make work and we called for help which came right away.

Tranquil secluded spot with beach access

Most of the time the only sounds we could hear were the birds and the water down at the nearby beach. The home was comfortable and seemed plenty spacious enough for us despite the pictures making it look a little cramped.

A lovely location

The quiet forest and nearby beach access make this a really lovely location. We appreciated Vacasa allowing us to amend our original reservation to add an additional night. The cabin has a lot of shared spaces, which make it very suitable for a family or group. However, we did wish for non-plasticked windows that could be freely opened, which would have improved air circulation and mitigated the musty smell inside the cabin.

Nice place, nice visit, would rent again.

Comfortable, well maintained property. It's a great place to decompress with a peaceful location toward the end of the road. There is a nice small community beach to wander and take in the sea, Mt Baker, and comb for shells, etc. Wifi was strong. Check in and check out were easy. One word of caution is that the place could become unreachable or nearly so if there is significant snow or ice in winter.

Excellent Getaway in Our Favorite Spot

We have been coming to Orcas annually for Spring Break for almost a decade and have stayed in a bunch of different places. This is definitely one of our favorites. The walk to the shared beach is easy and the beach is great. The house is well-appointed and comfortable. Our biggest piece of feedback is one that most houses get: not enough comfortable seating for a family of 4. The one couch is getting tired and the chairs are not cozy enough. If a place sleeps 4, there should always be at least 1 couch and 1 loveseat in good condition. In Spring the fact that the house is uninsulated wasn’t a problem, but I think it would be really rough in winter or summer. Those bits aside, we would absolutely stay there again.

Located very deep in the woods and the property is very old and needs a major renovation and maintenance. Early check in was not available here so we waited until 4 pm, entered the 10 digit key code to get inside the property which didn’t work. We contacted guest services, spent an hour trying to resolve and ended up using the back up key. The door knob of the second bedroom also did not work properly. And the breaker flipped while using the hairdryer they provided. The space heater or the dryer was NOT ON when that happened. Spiderwebs and dusty area all over the house. In general very unsatisfactory stay which did not meet our expectations or the descriptions provided on VRBO.

Lovely, but bright

We loved our stay at this lovely property. The location of the house was wonderful, with a private beach nearby. We had one major issue which was that the primary bedroom upstairs had huge windows (lovely) with no blinds or curtains at the top. The room was entirely too bright to sleep in. Especially with the sun pattern there at that time of year. My husband and I had to sleep downstairs with our kids as a result. We hope the property manager fixes this issue because during the summer months it is truly a deterrent, I'd think. Otherwise, we loved our stay!

Beautiful and peaceful!

Beautiful spot. We went all over the island and all agreed the private beach by the house was the best. We were the only ones on the beach each day that we went. There is a little walk down to the beach, it is steep, but short. Well worth the price. Four stars as the driveway light was burned out and we arrived on a late ferry. The directions were very challenging to follow at night and we drove in circles for quite a while. The house was not readily visible with no lights on or street lights. The cleaning was ok, but not great. I probably would not have noticed if I wasn't playing on the floor with my baby.

Disappointed

It was a neat house, but only a peekaboo view of the water from the upstairs bedroom, with a treacherous path to get down to the water. The listing indicated full a/c, but it was only in the living room. Each window had plastic across it on the walls, so they could not be opened. That also left a big gap from the plastic to the window and bugs were in the sills. At least one piece of plastic had a face print on it. It was disgusting. The house was also so musty and it permeated all our clothes and bags. Rooms had cobwebs and dust. The bathroom door in the en suite did not close off the bathroom and was poorly designed. Certainly not worth what we paid.

This is not a winter property

My husband and I were looking for a cosy relaxing vacation away from the city for 3 nights, but unfortunately this property was freezing cold and damp when we arrived. The property manager who did call me before arrival to let me know it would be a little cold, had lit the fire, but as the wood was also wet, it couldnt stay lit. The property manager had also brought in multiple space heaters to warm the house (which of course was a good temporary solution), but when you turned on the light in the kitchen or bathroom - it blew the fusebox, so it was either HEAT or LIGHT. This property should not have been rented in February - its a summer rental. I was offered other properties, but I felt If this was considered ok to rent, I was not willing to try another property and have yet another sleepless night of an already shortened vacation. We canceled our stay and am awaiting a full refund.
