We had a great time. This place reminds me so much of my grandmother's place in MI, but updated for the 21st century. There are a few quirks of course, like the house was obviously built before litch switched were big, but once you've hunted them down or found the lamp pulls, it's pretty easy (the kitchen switch is behind the refrigerator).
Check in was flawless, our Host Linda went above and beyond for our entire stay. The place is beautiful and full of so much history. It is well worth the little bit of a drive on gravel it takes to get there.
Our family was in town for a wedding weekend and stayed two nights. We really enjoyed the country home and home-like feel of the property and decor. Fully stocked - everything is there you need. Quiet, relaxing, peaceful yet close to surrounding towns for activities or supplies.
Everything is just what we wanted and needed. House decorated beautifully and lots of room. Reminded me of one of our farm houses I grew up on. Out side was very nicely kept up and had great fires.
This wonderful home was heaven sent! The property is beautiful, the house is very comfortable and well maintained. The owners were accommodating and easy to work with.
We absolutely loved the house, it was the exactly what we needed- quite, countryside, clean, home feeling- the property owner came and chatted with us and was absolutely amazing.
Very spacious and comfortable and each room uniquely decorated farm or antique items. Really neat coffee bar made from an antique stove. Some complimentery items like condiments, bottled water and toiletries. Very peaceful setting close to Backbone Park.
We came to celebrate my graduation at Upper Iowa University, from Wisconsin. The hone was immaculate, walked into soft music and snacks and such to settle us in. The rooms were amazing and we all had a cozy spot to just chill out. highly recommend!!!!
What a charming farmhouse! The property was absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. We had everything we needed to be comfortable while we were staying there including the recommendations of local restaurants. We will definitely be back!!
For context, it was a girl's trip for the Reds vs Cubs game at the Field of Dreams.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
We so loved our time here. So many beautiful places we used it to springboard to: Effigy Mounds, Backbone park, spook cave,. Pikes Peak. The property itself is beautiful and feels like staying at a family home, aspects from 100 year old farmhouse, to 1950s aesthetic to 1970s and the best macrame hanger I have ever seen. The pictures don't do it justice....it was roomy and cozy and quiet and we hope to come back again.
Overall, our stay was comfortable. We didn't get check in information until almost an hour after check in time which was off putting. There was a lack of toilet paper so we had to purchase some in town. Other than that the home is very nice and the land is beautiful.
We were all thankful to return to the farm house for a couple days of just quiet time togehter. We love the comfortable feeling of the kitchen and living rooms and just playing in the yard. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
