About this property
Asheville Mt home for 2 Families-2 kitchens, living rooms-Dogs-3 Miles to DT!
Looking to take a vacation with extended family and/or friends, but need need your own space? Look no further! Each floor in the Asheville Mountain Home is outfitted with its own kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom(s). Perfect for a fun family get together while maintaining your privacy!
NEW - Whole house carbon water filter installed to filter water treatment chemicals, metals, and sediment from Hurricane Helene.
Looking for a place with the calm and quiet of a mountain cabin, yet 3.5 miles from downtown? The French Broad Mountain Home rests in the quiet mountain neighborhood of Richmond Hill on 1.3 acres of forest with views of the French Broad River and plenty of space to play and explore! Other views include an industrial mix of factories and breweries, such as the French Broad Chocolate Factory, Ginger's Revenge Brewery, and Zilicoah Brewery, to name a few. Take a walk out the door down to the old barrel road next to the wildlife preserve, from where you might spot the noon train. Upon your return, cool off with a drink on the balcony as deer, turkey vultures, and the occasional bear meander through the yard.
The front yard and back yards are connected and mostly fenced (75%) with only the back portion open to the the mountain and wildlife preserve. There is a separate fully fenced area 40 ft x 13 ft for dogs with a gate at each end. The front yard is outfitted with an additional gate. The upstairs and downstairs living rooms each have a comfy sectional sofa with a chaise and pullout bed, as well as 55-inch flat-screen Roku TVs. There are two bedrooms upstairs with a queen bed and a twin trundle in each; perfect families. There is one bedroom downstairs with a king-sized bed and a twin trundle. We also provide a pack-and-play and high chair on each floor. There is a window AC unit in the upstairs living room, one in each bedroom (upstairs and downstairs) and ceiling fans in the living rooms and each bedroom.
The backyard balcony gives great views year-round of the wide open space we call the backyard, the river, wildlife, and the infamous fireflies of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Both front and backyards have open spaces for everyone, including your dogs, to run and play. In colder weather, warm your toes by the custom-built flagstone patio and fire pit, complete with a built-in stone bench and chairs. Prop your s'mores ingredients, hot cocoa, and other fire pit necessities on the table. There is plenty of parking in the fenced-in driveway.
We are minutes from Richmond Hill right down the road, which offers hike and bike trails and disc golf, three miles to River Arts District and downtown, 4 miles to the breweries, 4.7 miles to the Omni Grove Park Inn, 5.5 miles to Biltmore, and 9 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Dogs are welcome for a one-time fee of $50 per dog.

About the host
Hosted by Erin de Rivero

My husband and I are Floridians, and we needed a place to escape the heat! We visited Asheville and fell in love with the amount and variety of activities it has to offer! I am a teacher and my husband a general contractor, and we love everything outdoors.
Why they chose this property
We loved this property because of its quiet mountain home characteristics without being isolated, and its proximity to all things Asheville! We also have dogs and kids and love that the property is diverse and fun to navigate! We live in the quiet residential neighborhood of Richmond Hill situated at the end of a cul-de-sac on the French Broad River, and we have great, friendly neighbors. While there are wide, expansive views of the river, there is no immediate river access. Our view of the river and mountains on the other side is breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. It also captures the unique character of Asheville - a mix of mountain and industry - including the French Broad Chocolate Factory, a few breweries (Ginger's Revenge and Zilicoah), and an industrial supply company, to name a few. At the bottom of our road is the French Broad Outfitters and river access for a variety of activities. Richmond Hill Park is a few minutes drive and a bit longer walk from our house, which boasts trails and a disc golf course. The Omni Grove Park Inn is a 10-minute drive away, and the Biltmore just a bit more at about 12-15 minutes.
What makes this property unique
Almost all of the 1.3 acres is open for walking and exploring! The barrel road is a short but fun trail, especially for young hikers, with view of the French Broad River, its kayakers, and the occasional train that rumbles by! Summertime hosts a pleasantly shaded yard, and the famous fireflies of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
