We have a separate rental agreement that supersedes air B and B policy to sign upon acceptance, most notably including a no refund cancellation policy and minimum reservation age of 26. It is also required that guests purchase a $59 damage protection plan through CSA; additional information provided upon reservation.

Bring your own boats, or rent ours. We have a 21' Crownline open bow ski boat (seats 7), 25' new Avalon tritoon (seats 16), 22’ Harris tritoon (seats 11-12) available for rent in season, along with life jackets available (subject to checking sizes in advance) and lake toys, delivered to the marina and/ or dock upon your arrival (extra fees apply) or meet us at a nearby launch, depending on the property location. Restrictions on minimum days rented w/o a delivery fee do apply. Operating instructions, safety training manual, and check-in / check-out in person with the dock guy are mandatory - minimum age 26. Ask for more details, we're happy to provide or check out the flyer in one of the photos. First come, first reserved!

Need more space? Directly across the channel we have just introduced Point Three Paradise which sleeps 12 between two charming houses and has one of Norris Lake’s best double decker docks with slide, jumping platform and a pedal boat.

Managed by a Premier VRBO Partner with over a decade of creating quality memories and experiences, A Shore Thing needs just one more thing … your group! Let us know how to make your stay the best lake vacation, ever!

PS - if we are booked for the dates you wanted, please check out other managed lakefront properties - Suits Us Fine and Suits Us Too right next door to each other in Big Creek, plus five lakefront crowd pleasers in Flat Hollow: Lakeside Lodge, Waters Edge, Witt's Cove Landing, Lake It Easy and Whatever Floats Your Boat. We also offer a 10 acre luxury cabin retreat with a slip at the marina - Doc's Lake Escape, and Captain Brown’s Lake Escape with a slip at the marina, and a game room on 40 private acres plus hundreds more adjoining TVA. Wakes and Wheels is a favorite with both lakefront dock and easy access to ATV trails, located between Flat Hollow and Powell Valley Marinas. Perfect family getaway!
A Shore Thing was the perfect spot of our family gathering. Gorgeous views from everywhere especially relaxing in the hot tub. All the kids, ages 4-13, loved playing on the rocks and looking for shells. Everything including the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. Would definitely love to stay again!

Why they chose this property

The perfect lake vacation begins here at A Shore Thing - no busy resort, not surrounded by other renters, and a wooded 3/4 acre getaway sits near the end of a small cul-de-sac street. Close to all the shopping, easily navigable on year-round water to all parts of the lake, especially Mountain Lake Marina directly across from this home.

Beautifully furnished and lovingly re-decorated after an August 2020 purchase, the owners and manager invite you to enjoy this home's first-ever opening for rentals now in it's third 5-star season. What's not to love?!

Enjoy a few reviews posted on our previous listing with VRBO:
"5/5
Great home.
We enjoyed our time spent at this house. It’s a quiet area but still plenty to do. A boat ramp is only a few miles away which was nice since we brought our boat. The house was clean and everything we needed! Thanks"

"5/5
Great get away location!
Had a great time at a Shore Thing for a long weekend on the lake. The place could easily accommodate a large group of people with 3 private bedrooms and one large bunk room. Great location on the lake and easily can rent a boat at one of the local marinas (we used Twin Cove, but would use the manager next time). Would definitely go back!"

"5/5
Another great time at Norris
The house was set up great for our group. One of the best layouts we have stayed in over the 12 year we have regularly been going to Norris. The deck is great but the highlight is the game room... best room for fun in the house, and awesome light with all the windows . The bunk room was great area for kids. Will return for sure. Thanks for letting us make memories at your property."

What makes this property unique

Uniquely situated, families enjoy swimming, floating and splashing around in the proximity of a private dock surrounded by unspoiled, private natural beauty. Enjoy a stroll on the low-traffic roads, relax on the decks, sightsee on the water, fish from the shore, catch the sunrise or maybe a glimpse of a bald eagle or two! Easiest, no-steps gentle slope to the waterfront dock is among the absolute best features of this home, along with the convenience of Mountain Lake Marina directly across the channel.

Add in the thoughtful amenities provided by the owners for in-season and off-season enjoyment, like the fire pit, double level deck / patios, updated renovations, and a new indoor gas log fireplace ... we hope you'll find A Shore Thing on Norris Lake a come-back soon favorite among the best of your vacation memories.

The lake is a beautiful and fun-filled attraction from late spring through early fall. It stays warm enough to swim in even through most of October. I really love going to the lake house in the off-season, though. Our family loves to go in January and February for long lazy weekends sleeping in, playing games, watching movies, enjoying the fireplace and the fire pit outside, too, we have a wonderful time just hanging out together away from the rush of our daily lives.
